Tools and Hardware Reviews of 3M Command 17003 Large Hook with Adhesive StripsCustomer Review: Will fail after a few years. Summary: 2 Stars
I had two of these fail on me after about two years. The sticker didn't fail. The problem was that the paint and plaster peel off after months of stress. So now my walls have these big 3 inch scrapes where the plaster peeled off. Much worse than having a nail hole. The smaller hooks though, are still holding up well. I wouldn't recommend hanging anything more than 3 pounds off of these for more than a year.
Customer Review: Adhesive fails and hooks break under moderate load... Summary: 2 Stars
I thought Command Adhesive hooks were a great idea. But after they fall off the wall a few times and the hooks that do stay up break, you go back to less expensive and more dependable methods.
Customer Review: It did not work Summary: 2 Stars
This product is not for all types of walls. Be careful before buying. Did not work long in my case.
Customer Review: not worth the plastic its made of! Summary: 1 Stars
Searching for some hooks to help organize a newly constructed pantry, I researched these. Understand, my DH has promised to install a permanent solution for me, but this has not been built yet and the brooms, mops, and other cleaning implements leaning in the way when I walked in the pantry were becoming annoying. We decided to try this, as he said, as a temporary solution. Well, we GOT temporary! Just had no idea how temporary it would be. I followed all of the directions to the letter and even went beyond. I pressed the hook against the clean wall for over a full minute instead of the suggested 30 seconds. I let the hooks sit for 6 hours instead on one hour before hanging anything on it. My mop pulled its hook off immediately. This was a simple sponge mop, not wet, but it was the heaviest of the three items. The Swiffer handle, very lightweight, held up overnight and about half a day. The dustmop, actually a bit heavier than the Swiffer, held on for about an hour longer. And the last hook, which was only holding up a plastic dustpan and a plastic dusting brush--incredibly lightweight--fell about 2 hours after that! This was installed on drywall with regular latex paint cleaned carefully with alcohol as directed! Maybe they work better on wood than drywall, but I will not be using them again! What a waste of money. Glad I did not have anything breakable hanging on them!
Customer Review: A disaster!! Summary: 1 Stars
I followed the instructions. The hook held for 6 days and then the artwork fell to the floor, damaging the frame and breaking the glass. Goodness knows how much it is going to cost me to have it repaired.
