Tools and Hardware Reviews of 3M 90541-80025T TEKK Protection Digital WorkTunes Hearing Protector and AM / FM Stereo RadioCustomer Review: Peltor 90541 Worktunes Hearing Protector Summary: 5 Stars
I couldn't be more satisfied with the Peltor 90541 WorkTunes AM/FM Hearing Protector with Digital Tuning. I bought this product hoping it would help my Autistic daughter cope with the louder sounds in her enviroment (going to the mall, etc.). Not only does this product allow my daughter to tolerate all the loud advertising and abrupt unexpected noises of a mall/big box store shopping trip; but she does so with a smile all the while listening to her "Radio Disney" music. Now the strange looks we use to get from people seeing my daughter in agony over the loud noises (hands over her ears, startled, and sometimes screaming) has been replaced with a look of check that kid out with her tunes on. This product is one of the best things I have bought for my daughter outside of her many therapies. I would highly recommend this product to any family who has an Autistic family member.
Customer Review: So Glad I Upgraded to This Summary: 5 Stars
I originally picked up normal ear muffs for regular loud work that I am planning to do for years to come. Then I decided that it would be much better to just return them to the store to upgrade to these hearing protectors to make it very easy to listen to my music and books while working.
I've used these several times now and have been very pleased with them. I'm sooo glad I went with these just because it makes the time pass so much more quickly when I'm mowing the lawn or cultivating the garden or whatever. It blocks out the noise very well. The sound from the MP3 player is decent. I considered giving it 4 stars because of the average audio quality but I didn't have high expectations to begin with. Every once in a while I get a little static but it doesn't bother me at all. Just seems to be normal interference from operating machinery. I used the radio a little. It worked fine but I pretty much only use the MP3 player.
Customer Review: As Advertised Summary: 5 Stars
Got this at a nice price on Deal-Of-The-Day. Nice reception, I already had an older pair that works great with the analog tuner, but that grew to be a bit of a pain if you are adjusting the volume with gloves on and accidentally lose your station-plus changing stations is a pain with no presets. This model improves on that with the digital tuner and it works very well, I use them for snowblowing, power tools, just about anything where there's an engine or loud motor running. The older pair has been very durable, especially the antenna which I have bent many times with a hat or goggles and it is still in place and functions well. This one stores presets so it is much easier to change between your favorite stations.
Customer Review: So far so good. Summary: 5 Stars
This is my second pair of WorkTunes. My first lasted for a year until the apparently common problem of the wire breaking from the inevitable flexing of the unit putting it on and off my head.
This is my first digital unit, and the ability to quickly find a preselected station is appreciated. AM and FM reception is good, but I do live close to the transmitters.
The noise protection is really appreciated when mowing the lawn, and yet I can still listen to the radio.
The earset is comfortable enough that I'll often wear these rather than a different type of radio with ear buds when I'm doing work outside that is not noisy. That's because this set doesn't easily come off when moving around.
Customer Review: Unbelievable performance Summary: 5 Stars
I should have bought this years ago. Amazing performance. I connect it to my iPhone and set a comfortable volume level and never have to change it. Whether I start up my brush-cutter, or table-saw in the wood shop. Clean quiet performance.
Only complaint is that the external input is not an integral part of the amplification system. The volume control on the unit does nothing for it. In fact if you turn the volume on/up while using an external MP3 player, or whatever, you will hear the radio AND your MP3 player at the same time...dumb.
Added bonus though, since I'm using an MP3 phone (iPhone) I can hear when I get a call even though I'm using really loud equipment.
