Description of 3M Filtrete 3US-AS01 Under-Sink Standard Water Filtration System
FiltreteModel 3US-AS01 Advanced Faucet Water System. Includes filter head assembly, mounting hardware, plumbing connectors and 2,000 gallon capacity water filter cartridge. The FiltreteTM Advanced Faucet Water System fits neatly under the kitchen sink. It provides great tasting water and has a convenient shut-off valve for no mess filter replacement. The FiltreteTM Advanced Faucet Water Filter reduces sediment, including sand, silt, particulates and rust. It also reduces chlorine taste and odor. The system is tested and certified by NSF International against NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for the reduction of chlorine, taste and odor. Customer Review: Well designed, good tasting, hard to connect separate drinking faucet

This is a well designed and well built product. All accessories needed to connect a regular 1/2" flange cut-off valve to a regular 1/2" kitchen faucet were included. The screws included were stainless steel, a nice touch.
I wanted to connect this filter to a separate drinking faucet (Kingston Brass KS8198DL Concord 1/4 Turn Drinking Faucet, Satin Nickel), and it turned out to be quite difficult. The faucet had a 1/4" inlet and connecting it to the 3/8" flexible tubing included with the filter required three trips to the hardware store. It's finally connected, the water flow is great and there are no leaks. At the hardware store, I saw similar filters from Cummings that included accessory to connect to the 1/4" drinking faucet. That would have been a better choice for me.
Ultimately, my wife is finally happy with the taste of the tap water, and that's what counts. We can finally stop the waste of bottled water.
