We've wanted a knife sharpener for a long time. I saw this product mentioned in 'Cooks Illustrated' magazine as an excellent alternative to the pricey machine versions. The whole idea of knife sharpening seemed difficult and mysterious to me. I must have read the instructions a dozen times. It could not be that easy could it? Yes, it really is! I cannot believe the new edge it put on a knife we've had for a long time. This is an excellent product. The blue strap protects your fingers from the knife edge as you run the device from the hilt to the point. I'm so impressed. I am so glad I found this. This is the best sharpener I have ever owned by far. I used to sharpen my knives on a ceramic stick sharpener and that worked alright, but was slow and you really had to work at it to get a good edge. I would suggest that when you first start to use this sharpener you put very little downward force on the it. If you find that it is not sharpening fast enough then increase the downward force just a little. This is the first product review I have ever written, but this product is so outstanding I felt obligated to give the manufacturer a "Thank You".Customer Review: Easy to use

It has bothered me for some time that my knives were shamefully dull. I had a steel, but I never got the hang of using it. This device is small, quick, and easy to use. I sharpened all of my knives in about 10 minutes. I would recommend buying the extra blades. This device changed the angle of the sharpened point the first time you sharpen, so first-time sharpening of your entire knife set will likely "use up" the first set of blades. I expect the second set will last longer now that my knives have been "conditioned" for this sharpener.Customer Review: Saves trips to the knife store

I'm confident that I won't have to go to the knife store until I need a new knife. This got a huge nick out of my favorite knife in just a few sharpenings and is keeping my knives nice and sharp. The edge stays nice and sharp too. It was costing me a fortune to sharpen my knives, plus the inconvenience of taking them in and then going back to pick them up. Finally, I got a bad job done on them and bought this and I'm SO glad I did. What a fantastic product! I'm going to get one for my father-in-law for Christmas.Customer Review: Sharp Knives Again!
