At first I considered cheaper, similar fans... but then decided on this one - I'm not exactly sure why, but I recall thinking "I hope it's worth the few extra bucks." I was not at all disappointed! Far, far better than the truly junky fans I saw at the supermarket and at discount stores (not even in the same league!). The quality of this product was immediately evident from its design, materials, even the instruction&parts manual clearly comes from a company that cares about its product and customers.
I've clipped the unit to a shelf, over my desk, aimed at me (trying to reduce a/c use a little bit this summer). Operation is surprisingly quiet. The large, dimpled control dial makes switching on and off from any angle a cinch.
So satisfied, actually, that I may order another for my living room...

For its size it's real quiet (#2 -High- setting slightly quieter than my PC fan) and blows real well. The design is good. It has a stout non-marking clip with versatile positioning and it also seems to be made reasonably well. I'm using it to move air from across my bedroom to keep cool "economically" at night. The test of time, inclusive of an unintentional drop test, are next on the list. At this point for around $15- plus shipping and handling (Drop-shipped from Grainger Industrial Supply) I'd say go for it!
They ought to make and market a DC power model for those progressive types who are in the process of getting off or who have gotten off the abusively monopolized utilities control grid.

This little fan is fabulous. One of my boys, age 13, loves to have a fan blowing directly on him when he sleeps. The problem is he sleeps way up on a loft bed where there's no air circulation. Enter this little Air King clip-on, and his problems are solved. It plugs into an oulet near the ground, the cord stretches up the side of the wall, all the way to the top of the loft where the fan clips onto the metal rail of his bed. Voila! He has his own personal cool-front every time he sleeps. The clip is very sturdy. I was concerned that it would shift since the bars of his loft bed are tubular shaped. I bought this fan because I'm in Afghanistan and the heaters in the tents are overwhelming. And I have always had to listen to a fan at night because dead silence drives me crazy. The only problem is, this fan is so quiet, you dont even know it's on. I suppose that's great for the other 99% of the people that are going to buy this. The clip on the fan is extremely heavy duty and durable. The cord is REALLY long also. The only thing I would say is a downside to this fan is that even the high setting doesn't blow as much air as compared to the other guys' fans of similiar size. overall great fan for the price.Customer Review: A great buy and great customer service.

This is exactly the kind of fan I needed. I smoke and I moved into a house with 7 foot ceilings, so a ceiling fan was not possible. I looked for a small fan that I could put on the end table next to my couch. This fan is so quiet that I can't tell it's even running unless I look at it. On the low setting it's not just quiet, it's silent. The clip is very easy to use and stays secure on my glass end table. The cord is long enough to reach behind a chair to the closest outlet. For the money, you cannot beat this little fan.
