Tools and Hardware Reviews of Air-O-Swiss 32838 Ultrasonic HumidifierCustomer Review: Very good Humidifier Summary: 4 Stars
Have it since about 6 months. Used it a lot. The display is too bright at night, there should be auto adjust. The handle of the tank could be more user friendly for refilling the water. It's hard to hold the tank upside down with no handle, when refilling the water. Other than that I really recommend this product.
We are living in Colorado and we have a relatively big bed room. The humidifier is not able to raise the humidity to a level that it can swicth off, but that is mostly because it is extremely dry here.
Customer Review: Great for dry nose through the night Summary: 4 Stars
I had a problem breathing at night. My baby use to get up in the middle of night coughing and since my bedroom is very big the small humidifier did not work that effectively. I am very happy with this product. Though some minor changes in the model can prove very easy in handling. While filling up the tank there is no handle for lifting the full tank. Apart from that I am very happy with the product. I can sleep through the night without waking up with a dry throat and nose.
Customer Review: Great product Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this humidifier about a month ago. It works fine, with just a little white dust. My apartment is about 1000 sq, feet, so I found that I needed two in order to maintain the humidity level I wanted.
It's very quiet too. One thing I noticed is that the humidity reading on the machine is not accurate most of the time. It's off about ten points, so you might want to invest in a separate instrument to measure your humidity level.
Customer Review: Runs 24/7 with great results if... Summary: 4 Stars
We run this humidifer 24/7 with water from a reverse osmosis unit, but without using the included/consumable/costly mineral filter. It has operated virtually flawlessly for several years. The only caveat is the fan motor bearings require lubrication after a spell. For a mechanically inclined person, not a difficult task. Use a bit of quality sewing machine oil on the bearings and felts, and you are off and running for another year or more.
Customer Review: Beautiful design but the built in humidity detector has major flaw Summary: 3 Stars
I just got this beautiful designed humidifier and was hoping to retired my older version of the air-o-swiss 7135 (the one with blue see through tank)and I was very disappointed how the newer version I just got. I set it 45% humidity and set it in my living room. the humidity detector just can't accurately detect how humid it is in the room and keep pumping the mist. At first I thought maybe it's the size of my living room so i left it on then went do some grocery shopping. When I get back home, the moment I opened the front door I sense the humidity is high in the room (I guess the unit just keeps pumping the mist) and I went to check the "current humidity" it still says 32 ~ 40 and never can reach 45% as I wanted. but then I put the older version (the one with blue tank) at the same place, it humidified the room quickly up to 45% and the mist stopped and when the humidity dropped below 45% then it start pumping the mist.
Yes the newer version has more beautiful and modern design and look to it but if you have to pay almost $100 more for the newer version and the humidity detector is not working as well as the older one (with blue tank), then what's the point? the whole point of paying for a more expensive humidifer is that it will automatically detect the room's humidity and maintaine the desired humidity level.
So I am gonna return this unit, and get another older verion with the blue tank # 7135.
As other reviewers mentioned about the leak at the bottom, white dust, I didn't experience any of it. I love how it looks, and definitly can humidify the room to a higher level of humidity but was very unhappy how they just slap in a cheap & not accurate humidity detector in. some engineer from Air-O-Swiss who designed this unit should be fired!
