The is a heavy duty, 2 in 1 pneumatic flooring nailer. It is designed to install tongue and groove hardwood flooring with L-shaped nail or staple. Flooring in thicknesses of 1/2", 5/8", 3/4" and 25/32" can be installed using 1.5" and 2" length nail respectively. Your purchase includes: Brand New Factory Sealed box containing the 2-in-1 Flooring Cleat Nailer and Stapler. Heavy Duty Blow Mold Carrying Case. 2 oz bottle of Oil. I had three rooms to lay down hardwood on.The first one I borrowed a air nailer.
I am doing the work for my self I take my time and wanted a nailer of my own and the person that owned the nailer neede it back and rental would not be cost effective.
This Akuzuki nailer that sells for $249.00 was a lot more nailer than I had expected as far as quality goes.
The one thing I did to help me position the nailer on the flooring was to mark the shoe of the nailer with "white out" typing remover. I did this right where the notch is. This made finding the exact spot to line up the nailer with the flooring edge much easier b/c the shoe of the nailer is all black and it was hard to determine where to position the nailer when lining up the notch quickly.It took out the fuss of making sure I got the nailer in the right place.
I found the nailer worked well,I liked the trigger feature for fireing it. I did notice that the cleats (nails) had to be almost empty before I could reload the magazine with another clip of cleats in order for the spring mechanism to catch.
One has the option of using cleats or staples,I chose cleats as I was told they hold better,
We did Natural Hickory and Brazilian Golden Teak,both very hard woods. I recommend using the Fin/Trim trim head screws to fasten the flooring down where you can not access the nailer.
So if your trying to decide which nailer to use I think you'll be very happy with this one (not sure of the model # as there are no markings on it)that sells for $249.00.
