Laundry detergent alone will not remove the allergens from dust mites, especially in warm and cold water. I am of course not sure if it really works but it is easy to use in the laundry and smells nice. I tried to buy and use eucalyptus oil in the laundry which also kills dust mites but naturally but it was so darn expensive. This seems to work and is reasonably priced. I will only use for one round of laundry for a while and then again in a couple of months when I de-mite the house again. I used in conjunction with Dustmite and flea powder which actually kills the mites in things you cannot wash. Mix into a spray w/ water and you can do your mattress, rugs, sofa, etc. I have not had any trouble with it spotting my fabrics either. Both really helped reduce indoor allergy symptoms I had.
