Tools and Hardware Reviews of Powerbuilt 648796 Honda Crankcase Pulley Removal ToolCustomer Review: Don't Hesitate - GET THE TOOL Summary: 5 Stars
I decided to buy the pulley tool, since I'm replacing my timing belt and water pump. I've heard stories of guys using 600 ft lb air impact wrenches or guys who spend half a day trying to loosen the pulley bolt using all sorts of crazy methods. Using the tool and two two-foot breaker bars, I had the pulley bolt off in under 10 seconds. Make your life easy: Get the Honda pulley tool if you're working on Hondas.
Customer Review: Essential tool for Timing belt replacement Summary: 5 Stars
If you don't have air tools you need this tool to remove the crank shaft pulley. One breaker bar is attached to this tool to prevent the crank from turning, the other breaker bar on the bolt, with a couple of extensions to allow you to turn it from outside the wheel well. Its still difficult to loosen, I needed reposition them until I found a location that prevented the engine from flexing on the motor mounts.
Customer Review: Excellent Tool!!! Summary: 5 Stars
This tool works as advertised. However, even with this tool, removing the crankshaft pulley bolt was a pain. I broke two extension bars. I thought the breaker bar was going to break, but after jumping on it a couple of times, the crankshaft pulley bolt finally broke loose. Installation is a breeze, just make sure you apply oil to the threads and torque the bolt correctly. The tool hold up pretty well.
Customer Review: Great Product Great Price!! Summary: 5 Stars
This is A MUST for honda owners. Timing belt? No problem!! This is the same thing snap on makes but for over $100 cheaper. Amazon saved the day with this great deal. Just make sure you get the right one for your car.
Have already busted 3 crank bolts loose with this and let me tell you its worth every penny. Id rather use this then rattle around bearings in the bottem end with a impact gun.
Customer Review: Inexpensive improvment on Quality of Life! Summary: 5 Stars
This tool is a simplified version of the actual Honda mechanics tool. The full Honda tool is a $150+ wrench-combo. This just needs a 1/2" breaker bar or socket. My 2000 4cyl Accord has not been exposed to excessive corrosion, yet my balancer bolt was on EXTREMELY tight. Without this tool, I wouldn't have been able to hold the balancer steady enough to break the bolt loose. Worth every penny.
