This clock has given my 2 toddlers (ages 1 and 2) an understanding of when it is bedtime. When it's yellow that means it's time for bed (and they don't argue) and when it's green it's time to get up (no arguing to go back to bed in the middle of the night). I wake up every morning to my toddlers singing "...it's green, it's green" (refering to the color of the clock) and then they run into my room. They press the right foot of the clock and it says the time. We also talk about the time - the first number is hours and the next numbers is minutes (digital). I haven't tried playing the games with them yet - maybe in a year or two. Their still too young. I read some of the review before I purchased this. I don't think the yellow glow at night is too bright at all. It's no brighter than a normal nightlight.Customer Review: Just what we were looking for

My husband and I were troubling over how to get our three-year old daughter to learn when she could "get up" in the morning...we brainstormed and thought of the most desirable features of a toddler clock. Well, this one hit the mark on every one. It runs on an AC adapter, the clock can "talk", the voice is not obnoxious, parents can control the volume, the light changing feature at "wake up" time is perfect, the control panel is only accessible by parents, the games seem appropriate and clever, and I think the product will be adaptable for years to come...can't say enough good things. At first I thought the price was a little high but now that we've received it and used it, no complaints! My 2.5 yr old has been waking up around 6:00AM every day, announcing that it's morning, and time to get up. Out of desperation, I sprung for this clock, which glows yellow at night, but then glows green at whatever time you set it to (7:00AM, in our case). The clock arrived yesterday, and this morning was the first time in months that our tot stayed in bed until 7:00. At 7:03, he leapt out of bed and announced: "It turned green! It's morning time! Time to get up! It turned green!".
Hopefully this clock eventually will be a useful teaching tool for learning to tell time, but in the meantime, it is worth more than its weight in gold for the extra sleep we hope to get. Highly recommended.

We bought this alarm clock for our 5 year-old son. We had a hard time waking him up every morning for kindergarten. After we got this alarm clock, he almost always gets up on his own after the alarm goes off. It saves us a good 10-15 minutes every morning! The nightlight on the clock is very useful too, he likes it so we don't need an additional one on the wall.
We have started teaching him time, but not pushing it. Once he starts going over it in school, I think this will be useful. Right now, he just presses the button so that the clock announces the time.
Overall, we are very pleased with the clock and would recommend it to anyone with small children.

This product works great! Our daughter used to get up in the middle of the night and believe it was time to get up. She would play in her room and then come wake us up - but by this point she was too awake to get her back to sleep - ruining all of our nights' of sleep! Now she knows it's still sleep time until the light turns green. She is getting a better night of sleep and likes the nightlight feature of the clock too. When she is sleeping better, so are we! As she keeps getting older I know she will use the talkng feature more to learn to tell time. Thumbs up on this product! I'd gladly pay the higher cost for this type of clock when we all sleep better!!
