I've used this type of filter before (ordered from Aquazana) and was impressed by the quality of filtration and almost no descrease of water flow strength.
However this particular one did not work at all( there were no initial flushes of soiled/carbon water and the chrorine odor persisted after the filtration); obviously it was defective so I've returned it for refund.
However I'm giving 5 stars to the filter as othervise it is an excellent product. Just be careful to get the working one and once you install it please be sure to follow the user manual and make sure it behaves as described. You will be surprised with whe difference it makes.

Have used the Aquasana for years and it makes a HUGE difference in the quality of our very hard (and limey) water. It has helped improve my chronically dry skin, makes my very fine hair more manageable, and even makes the shower easier to clean as it prevents hard water buildup. I recently got lazy about changing the filter and started to get a crusty buildup in my hair that couldn't be removed even with a harsh clarifying shampoo. After successfully removing the buildup by using a process recommended for removing PAINT, I can guarantee that I'll never forget to change the filter again!Customer Review: Best move I made!

I have really hard water, and this made such a difference. My hair gets way less frizzy -- skin is less dried out (I have dry skin, this helped) and even the soap goes down the drain faster! Less soap scum! I am buying a refill now - I am a bit late with the review...

Didn't know if a shower filter was what I needed for my sensitive, itchy winter skin, but wow! What a difference! My hair feels better, too! Feels like it does when I shower at the cabin on the lake with clean water (no clorine, rusty old pipes, ect.) Highly recommended!Customer Review: Excellent product

I had to give up all my cool shower heads, since I was afraid to add all that weight to an already heavy shower filter, but the trade was worth it as the filtered shower water has made a huge difference in my hair and skin. I can't recommend this enough.
