Customer Review: Disregard the guy that says it "literally stinks"

The aquasana shower head wand combo smells like any other new piece of plastic and rubber. A shower or two later and the vinyl smell is all gone. My guess is that they guy that is complaining about the vinyl smell either has a real sensitive sniffer or is simply a moron looking for something to complain about.
The system works great! We get great pressure through it and our skin and hair is already softer after only a week of use. I live in an area with treated public water but it comes through old, galvanized lines. This leads to hardness which leads to dry skin. It isn't as bad here as in some places so spending $80 to $100 for this setup plus an annual filter change seems like a heck of a deal compared to buying a full house water softener that we don't really need elsewhere in the house.

I don't know how water can feel smooth, but it does after installing this shower head. I fill up the tub with the shower head now, too. Takes forever, but it's worth it. No major change in water flow. I agree with another reviewer, the filter messes with where the shower head can go, but I tilt it and it seems to be ok. We have very hard well water (no chlorine but lots of other crap) and a water softener that bothered my skin. This fixed it almost immediately. Pricey but even my husband says it's worth it.
Our skin conditions before: dry, flakey, red, sore, tight, blotchy, overall irritated. After, not perfect but all of the issues are significantly improved.

I started out a bit of a skeptic, but decided to give this shower filter a try. I am very glad I did! Also, the shower head is great and has excellent pressure. My sensitive skin has been a problem for me (itchy back/winter dryness) but now, I'm thinking most of the problem has been the chlorine and other chemicals in my water. I've also noticed an improvement in my hair, and my shower doesn't get all those icky rusty looking stains anymore. Highly recommend this product.Customer Review: great filter

This is a great filter for removing contaminants from your water. I read the previous review about hard water. The filter is not designed really for hard water softening...it removes chlorine, etc from water. I do use less shampoo and soap and cleaning the shower is easier. We were a little surprised with an added bonus....our use of moisturizer is about half. I really am happy with this especially for the price. changing the filter is easy.Customer Review: The BEST

This without a doubt is the best filtered showerhead I've ever had. You lose no water pressure and the filter is good for 5 to 6 months. You can also set up automatic filter replacement[shipped just before replacement is necessary] with the company.
