I had been looking at the "mr. steamy" as a present for my sister when I found these. The "mr. steamy" claims that it will soften your clothes as well as take out any wrinkles. The thing is, if you pull clothes directly out of the dryer they will be wrinkle free. As far as softening, I was looking for something chem free that I didn't have to buy "scented refills" for like you do with 'mr. steamy'. I bought these instead to try them out and I am very happy with them. It's true, your towels do come out way softer, even after you fold them and have them in the closet for a few days. It also leaves your clothes (especially jeans) very soft. I have also noticed a decrease in lint that builds up which ironically means my cloths take less damage in the dryer with the balls vs with a dryer sheet. I would recommend these to a friend, or someone that just doesn't want the hassle of dryer sheets or bars that stick to the inside of your dryer.
