Customer Review: Good vacuum for the price
Summary: 3 Stars

My husband says the vacuum I want does not exist. After using this once, I was amazed at how much it picked up from the floor. However, we have 75% wood floors with area rugs. I was wearing shorts while vacuuming and dirt kept hitting my legs as I went across the wood floors and tile. I tried a few different settings all with the same problem. It did a great job on large area rugs, but you have to use the tool on smaller rugs. Another complaint I have is that it doesn't have a lot of suction outside of the actual head. If there is a dust bunny right next to the vacuum, it will not suck it in, you have to actually run over the dust bunny. I found this made it much more of a hassle to try to get the edges of the room. It left about a half inch that you would have to use the tool on to complete. Overall, I would say this is a decent vacuum. I am not overly impressed though.

Customer Review: Good Cleaner, however...
Summary: 3 Stars

I really like this vacuum. It does a better than average job in cleaning, even superb. I love being able to see how much dirt is picked up. I have one complaint though, it as so many other vacuums are not designed well. Whenever I use the hose attachment which is half of the time I vacuum, I end up cursing loudly because everytime I reach with the hose or try to lead the vacuum with the hose the darn unit falls over. It is either too light or the center of gravity is wrong, who designs these things? You would think by now, that would be one of the first things they test. !@?

Customer Review: Great suction, but not so great for bare floors.
Summary: 3 Stars

As a couple reviewers noted, I can confirm that on bare floors the vacuum tends to kick things into your legs. If I walk barefoot, I can feel little grains all over where I just vacuumed. The suction seems great, though.

I think the culprit may be the over enthusiastic roller brush. I've tried all the height settings and it's just not working out.

This will probably be great if you have carpet. For bare floors, stick with a swiffer.

Customer Review: pretty good
Summary: 3 Stars

This is my first bagless vacuum and I'm mostly happy with it. My only complaint really is the amount of dust and debris that ends up back on the floor when emptying the canister. But it works well, isn't too heavy. I'd say for the price range, it does what it needs to.

Customer Review: Review AFTER 1 year of ownership!
Summary: 2 Stars

I too read all the great reviews of this vacuum before I bought it. I checked out many reviewer sites and was confident I bought the best vacuum. Unfortunately I did not. Prior to this I had a friend who got a new vacuum every year and gave me her cast off. This was the first vacuum I had to purchase in about 15 years (my friend got a Dyson---still working great after 6 years so no more cast off's for me!). Again, I did all my homework and agonized over my choice. I know $120 or so might not be a lot to some people but I want every bang for my buck I can get.

At first this vacuum seemed outstanding. Gradually it lost suction and had a bad burning smell and a TERRIBLE noise developed (so LOUD my neighbors next door can hear it through their closed doors with the A/C on!!). I found that all the cat hair/lint/dirt was clinging on the slats of the top cyclonic which looks like some sort of permanent filtering (not a mechanic here). There are two "see through" containers and I'm talking about the top one..the bottom one is the one you remove to dump the dirt. Well apparently it was all clogged up. Because I'm not a fix it person I did my best to use a long metal spoon to scrape this stuff off. Long story short didn't work well. I did get it off and the vacuum worked better (though not even 50% of the way it worked when I got it originally) but after only 2 months it is again completely clogged. I empty the bucket ALL the time. It appears to be a flaw in design or something.

I am now looking at Dyson's. I'd rather put the money in to have a machine for 5-6 years then have to buy one every year. In 4 years I'll have more than paid for that Dyson. My mom still has her original Hoover she had when I was growing up (and I'm in my 40's!) and it works great. I can't believe all these new vacuums are so disposable you get a year or two at most. My ex bought a cheap Eureka when I bought this one and his gave out 6 months ago after only a few months. GARBAGE!

When reading reviews PLEASE remember that, initially, this vacuum seems like an answer to a prayer. However, pay attention to the fact many of the reviewers have only had it for a month (or few months). The real test for me was that, after about 9 months, this thing was pretty much useless and I was getting disgustingly dirty trying to clean it to get it to work.
