Yes, I did expect it not to be so cheap-feeling, but no guest of mine is going to reach down to the floor to feel its flimsiness, so this is the least of my problems.
It works, that is what matters, and it has made an amazing difference. It blocks a very large gap under my standard-sized exterior door. It rolls well over my carpet and over the area rug that is placed atop of the carpet. I never have to reposition it. It even blocks the light from the outside.
I had to walk around with a sweater before I discovered this blocker. Now, my place definitely feels warmer and my feet are not cold anymore. A friend recommended this to me, after she and her mother were delighted with the product. I am delighted as well.
I highly recommend.
UPDATE: Although the makers of this guard never mentioned that it could be done, I was so happy with this product that I bought one for the top of my entrance door as well. Now, no draft is coming from the top of the door either, and I can open and close my door without the draft guard falling or having to adjust it. If only they made one that could go along the entire side of my door. Yes, my apartment complex got me an ill-fitting door -- 1/4 too short from the top, 1/4 too narrow from side, and an inch too short from the bottom. These guards are my saviors.
