When my smoke alarms reached the end of their life (churping, with no relief), I replaced them with the BRK models 7020B and 9120B. In this way I had coverage for the two main types of fires - smoldering and kitchen/electrical. These installed easily using the plugs from my old smoke alarms. The alarm replaced an older model. It was easy to install, and works great, so far. The only complaint I have is the misrepresentation
of the product, where it states the price which was obviously for one unit, but the description says the quantity is 48, leaving the buyer to believe he/she is going to receive 48 individually packaged units for the price advertised.

The alarms were purchased to replace those that were installed when the house was built and were due to be replaced because of age. The specific model was purchased as it was designed to replace the model originally installed. I was able to use the existing wiring and have not experienced any problems with false alarms. Had nothing but problems with the older model BRK Smoke Detector installed by the contractor who built our home. After months (years) of chirping, replacing batteries and cleaning them did nothing to stop the annoying chirping which woke us up all hours of the morning. So far, these replacement units have not let out a chirp and seem to be working fine.Customer Review: Added to existing system

Bought these as adders to my existing system because the original model has been obsoleted by BRK. Finished basement and then added four new detectors to system. All tested good and function in concert with existing detectors. No problems what so ever with chirping in the middle of the night or otherwise as discussed by other reviews.
