Customer Review: Increases storage space available

This product does what it claims. It causes five shirts, or pairs of pants or whatever else one might put on a hanger to take up less space on the closet bar. I've seen models that work better and I've seen models that work worse. This one is fairly strong. I haven't had one break, even when using them for sweaters or other heavy items. There are some, though that have a pivoting hook at each end so that one can either let it hang, taking up less space, or hang up both ends so that it takes up the usual amount of space. This is preferable because in the second position the space-saver allows one to more easily remove the item of one's choice. This product allows one to easily remove the top item, but each subsequent space lower on the product becomes more and more difficult.
This is not such a problem, if you are like me, and you wear only white shirts and black pants. However, if you want easy access to lots of colors and styles, you will find this product troublesome. If you are really short on closet space, then that added trouble might be a small price to pay for the added closet space. Or, you could plan ahead and hang the things that you are going to wear later in the week lower on the product. There are ways to make the product work well, but not as well as other similar products that are just better designed.

I was so excited when these arrived - they created so much room in my closet. But tonight, I learned that they aren't very sturdy - the weight of multiple items hanging off the hanger stretched out the plastic, and now it doesn't have enough curve left in the plastic to hang over the closet rod. To be fair, I was hanging multiple items off each hook - it has 5 hooks on each one and I had 2 or 3 hangers on each hook.
So, if you're looking to hang exactly 5 items on them, they may work -- but beware overloading.

I bought this item to free up some closet space, but most of my clothes ended up on the floor. If you move these hangers, the regular hangers don't tend to stay securely hooked, and the cedar hangers can't take much weight. I used them for jackets, and it didn't really work.Customer Review: Not recommended! Only good for LIGHTWEIGHT garments!

The problem with these hangers is that they can't support the weight of 5 garments. Unless you were planning on using these to hang up 5 camisoles or light blouses, these are not recommended. I bought several packs and used them to hang cardigans and blazers, but within 3 days they all fell down because the round part that hangs on the closet bar straightened out and fell right off the bar. The plastic is too pliable to support anything but the lightest weight garments.
By the way, if your intended use is for very lightweight items, starcrest.com and taylorgifts.com have the same item at a better price.
