A regular framing square works fine for sure,.. BUT, you MUST adjust it every time and position it after you align your circular saw at the pencil line.. This tool STOPS ALL aligning by eye ! Every circular saw has a different distance between blade and edge of sole plate... Your first cut will remove excess plastic making it PERFECTLY MATCHED to your saw only.. You can throw your pencil away too ! Just move the "Cut edge" to your desired cut mark (you can measure over this tool and eye length without using pencil)and close your eyes and cut ! As long as your saw rides along rail, you will have almost a miter saw cut every time ! A pocket square or carpenter square DOES NOT tell you or guide you those extra inches you need to make a cut without looking !

So, if anyone gave this a one star rating thinking a regular square is better, think again retard ! You haven't even tried this have you ??? my apologies to the mentally impaired..

I know you will love this once you "Marry" it to your saw ! Get one for each saw you own and mark it in permanent marker so you wont cut it by mistake using another.. Do NOT let anyone "Borrow" it either unless you give them your circular saw too.. You can even use this as a jigsaw guide too..
