Tools and Hardware Reviews of Bionaire BW2300 Twin Window Fan with Remote ControlCustomer Review: Quiet and smart Summary: 5 Stars
This fan is of great value. It will quietly refresh your room during a warm summer night, allowing you to sleep and benefit from air circulation in those houses where there is no central air conditionning. It has 3 speeds and 3 air flow settings (In, Out, Exchange: one fan works in and the other out to exchange the room's air with the outside air) to rapidly get the room to the desired confort level. It also has an Automatic mode that controls the fan's operation until the desired temperature is reached. This feature is not ideal since it will have the fan starting and stopping every 2-3 minutes when the temperature rises back to above the desired temperature. Altogether, I am very satisfied with this fan, even though I do not use the Automatic feature. It is exceptionnaly quiet I find and the air flow features get the job done in no time.
Customer Review: Temperature sensor location is now fixed - as of July 2010 !! Summary: 5 Stars
Ladies & Gents, the infamous ill-located temperature sensor has finally been fixed by the maker 'silently'. I didn't know this so I followed the instructions of taking the fan apart (with ease), I spotted this thin white/red dual wire that co-joins at one end into a black plastic tip, I am very sure that it is the temp sensor, it's now placed far far away from the circuit board & I highly suspect that Bionaire even re-did the mold to provide this guide slot for this sensor, nice touch. I closed everything back up & after running the fan for 1 hour or so, temperature drops & then remains at the right level (even as I type this), there's no more sensor overheating from its own circuit board heat generation. Now, this fan is close to perfect. I received this 'new' model on July 22nd, 2010, just to let you guys know.
Customer Review: Love This Fan! Summary: 5 Stars
I thought I wanted the Honeywell HW 628 after reading reviews on Amazon. Found this Bionaire at Costco and love it! It does an amazing job of cooling down my bedroom, which gets very little air flow and is always the last room to cool down.
I love the exchange setting so I can have one fan pulling cooler air from outside in and the other fan blowing warm stuffy air from inside out. I also love the digital control thermostat feature you can use to have the fan automatically turn on and off when your desired preset temperature is reached.
I think the remote control is pretty much useless, but my husband likes it. Go figure. :)
I have not had a single problem and think this is a great fan for a great price. I don't know how we ever got through a summer before this fan.
Customer Review: Great fan with lots of features Summary: 5 Stars
I've owned three of these fans and used them for years. They are great! I don't tend to use the remote control or thermostat but they have worked fine when I have used them. The remote worked well for my elderly mother who had the fan in a window behind a couch. The thermostat worked well when you wanted fresh air but don't want the cooler nighttime temps to make the bedroom too cool during the night. Fits nicely into most windows, but a bit too tall to fit well into our bathroom window. Reasonable length cord. Reasonable noise level and sound is not annoying like some fans I've had. Three speeds and choice of blow in, blow out, or circulate air with one fan blowing in and the other blowing out gives plenty of flexibility for different situations, with no need to move the fan around.
Customer Review: Great fan - love it! Summary: 5 Stars
We purchased two of these fans about 4 years ago and they both are still working fine. Sometimes the temp gauge seems off a little but not much and our temp gauges have worked turning the fan off & on when the temp rises or lowers. I love the settings for that especially for the one in my son's room so I don't have to go in during the night if its too cold & turn it off. Also like that its not too noisy. Only other thing is on the highest setting it does tend to be a bit louder but not that much better at blowing more air, we mostly use on speed one or two and really haven't used the remotes for them but that's just an extra :) - all in all we love this fan and would buy another or recommend them. They are a bit hard to clean though but if you do it once or twice a year its not bad.
