Tools and Hardware Reviews of BISSELL 1867 Steam Mop Bare Floor Steam Cleaner

Customer Review: This Really Makes Cleaning my Floors Fun!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have used this Mop for 1 week and I really find that I have lessened my cleaning time tremendously.I was so sceptical at first..but after read the reviews in here I really wanted to try it. I am so happy I did! I tell everyone who comes over about how fast and easy it is to use. My floors are very clean and I coudnt ever go back to cleaning them on my hands and knees again. This is the first mop that I have ever liked... I no longer need to use any cleaning product on my kitchen floor. My hands will not dry out anymore from the chemicals I had used. The HOT steam really cleans and sanitizes just like the product claims. The Terry Cloths are very well made and easy to clean in the washer.( I wish they were a little easier to put on after drying them, but I have gotton the hang of it.) I am using distilled water..to save on needing a new filter. I believe Bissell is correct in the product discription. It does everything it claims and more!

Customer Review: Floor cleaning made easy!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been an old-fashioned down on my "hands and knees" floor cleaner. I have tiled floors in my kitchen, entry and 2 bathrooms, but the worst job has been the porcelain tile in the kitchen that is textured. The tile does not have the "shiny" sealed finish like typical ceramic tile and has a tendancy to allow dirt to get ground in. This product makes cleaning this tile a breeze compared to having to scrub the heavy traffic areas with a brush and cleaning solutions. And a job that used to take 30 minutes now takes 5. Because of the rougher texture of the procelain tile, my mop pads fray quicker, but it's worth it compared to the chore cleaning this floor used to be.
I was skeptical but saw a report on my local news that rated this product as doing what it claims to do and worth buying. I was not disappointed and Amazon had the best price, even though I did have to wait a few weeks for it. And a gallon of distilled water goes a long way.

Customer Review: My floors never felt cleaner!
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this product as soon as I saw it advertised and am thrilled with it. Not having to mess with strong, smelly cleaners is a dream because I have a baby and a dog. It is easy to put together and even easier to use. I have a lot of tile in my house and I have a 2-Step Bissell process. First, I vaccuum the tile with my Bissell 3-Way (wonderful little machine, I never sweep) and then follow with the Steam Mop. The first time I used it, my tile actually felt squeaky clean! I highly recommend this mop if you dislike messy sponge mops like I do. With those I always felt like I was mopping the floor with a dirty mop. Now I just toss the cleaning pad in the washer with a load of towels and then in the dryer and it's clean everytime I mop. Another reason I like the mop is because of the handle design. I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and have a hard time doing many cleaning tasks comfortably but the mop makes it it a breeze for me.

Customer Review: No Mop, No Bucket, No Soap, No Sweat
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a linoleum kitchen floor because my back won't tolerate standing any length on a hard surface. My kitchen gets a daily workout and the floor looks it. I got tired of hauling out a bucket mop soap etc. I read a bunch of product reviews and found the biggest negative on this steam cleaner was that it didn't clean grout. My floor is smooth so I gave this thing a shot. Happy as can be. What used to be a 40 minute project is now down to about 15 minutes meaning I'm more inclined to do it versus putting it off for a day or three, or four. Definitely use distilled or filtered water and don't store with water in the tank. I take the cloth cover off after each use and either wash it by hand with a little warm water and dish soap or if it's really dirty toss it in the laundry. DO NOT dry in a clothes dryer. Wring it out and hang on the hook provided on the handle to air dry. Works great and floor comes clean every time.

Customer Review: Terrific! wish I would have had it sooner
Summary: 5 Stars

I'll be honesnt, I didn't really expect a whole lot from this thing. The only reason I bought it was for the positive reviews I found on it. If your looking for a short cut to mopping, Then this is it! It did a great job on both my linenolium and tile floors. I have a one year old house that we built and was getting some funny circles around the toliet (maybe from the glue they used to install it?)that I tried to clean several times, well this thing did it! I also love the fact that it uses no soap or chemicals and still does a pretty decent job. It dosen't really get along the sides real well, but I doubt your mop and bucket would do a better job. I read the review about it not working in GFI outlets, this is false, at least for me,I plugged it right into the bathroom counter outlet (which is GFI by law). No problems for me, I would recommend getting another set of the terry cloth covers for it.
