Bissell 20Q9 Cleanview II Bagless Plus Upright Vacuum - maximum power and convenience to thoroughly clean your home. This model replaces model number 35766. It has many features including a TurboBrush on the handle, 7 height adjustments, bright headlight, easy empty dirt cup, HEPA media filter, wire reinforced hose, 27' power cord, and a wide 15" cleaning path. There is also an extension wand, crevice tool, and combination dusting/upholstery brush included for all of those hard to reach areas.This cleaning machine tackles it all, from wood floors to carpets and from furniture to drapes, and its lightweight construction makes it easy to push from room to room or carry upstairs. Employing the maximum possible power of 12 amps, this vacuum has excellent suction that pulls in microscopic dirt particles as well as heavier items such as spilled nuggets of dog food or peas. The vacuum cleaner's head adjusts to seven different heights, depending on the surface it is cleaning. An extra-wide cleaning path gathers more dirt in one push and additional side brushes on the edges ensure that the perimeters of the room are not missed. A carpet sensor glows red as it passes over a dirty section of carpet and turns green when it detects that a section of carpet is finally clean.
Other potential allergens from the air are captured in the HEPA media filter, which has a track record of collecting 99.9% of dust mites, pollens, and ragweeds. All particles are deposited into this bagless vacuum's plastic dirt container, which has a lockable lever to prevent spilling and saves a ton of time and hassle in locating replacement vacuum bags. In addition, this bagless system makes it easy to spot when the dirt container needs emptying so the CleanView II Plus constantly provides effective suction; whereas, it is difficult to know if vacuum bags are full and a stuffed bag can cause a vacuum to operate at less than capacity. Onboard tools that come with this vacuum include a crevice tool, dusting brush, extension wand, and a TurboBrush, which has a rotating brush that is more accurate in picking up pet hair or cleaning stairs or drapes. Customer Review: Fantastic Vacuum

Background:
I recently decided to thoroughly clean my apartment, and so I vacuumed my wall-to-wall carpeting with my faithful 25-year-old Eurka vacuum cleaner and then steam cleaned the carpets with a RugDoctor rented from a local store. The RugDoctor managed to extract a huge quantity of rather nasty-looking stuff from the carpet and removed several stains. The carpets looked great to the naked eye -- no stains, no dark spots, etc. -- so I thought things were clean.
I offered my vacuum and the rented RugDoctor to my neighbor and good friend, but my Eureka finally kicked the bucket and ceased to function. We managed to clean my neighbors carpet with the RugDoctor and then went out looking for a new vacuum cleaner.
While at a local merchant, we came across the Bissell CleanView Helix. Many of my friends have had excellent luck with Bissells, and so it was purchased.
Upon returning to my apartment, I decided to test this new vacuum on my seemingly thoroughly-cleaned carpets. Recall that this was merely one day after a deep steam cleaning with a RugDoctor.
The Bissell vacuum managed to extract a huge amount of linty-looking dust, hair, and a fine, white powder from the carpet. I suspect the powder was dried residue from the RugDoctor cleaning solution. Needless to say, I was simultaneously surprised at the amount of stuff left over in my carpets after using a RugDoctor and pleased that the Bissell vacuum managed to remove it.
Pros:
- Light weight.
- Suction power is very strong.
- Rotating carpet-beater brush gets lots of dust out from the carpet.
- Useful attachments included (TurboBrush is useful for tight corners.).
- Dust separation/storage cylinder stores a considerable amount of dust.
- HEPA exhaust filter.
- Nearly all dust/particles are contained
Cons:
- Noisy, but not horribly so.
- Extremely fine powder can make it through all the filters except the HEPA exhaust filter. This makes cleaning a little annoying. Fortunately, this is rare as nearly all "normal" dust is unable to make it through the filters -- only extremely fine powder like the stuff left over from the RugDoctor.
Conclusion:
For the price, this vacuum is excellent. The suction is extremely powerful, it cleans carpet extremely well, and the accessories are quite handy.
