Leave it to Bissell to come up with this great little workhorse. It's light, powerful, and versatile. Although it wasn't designed to take on a whole house, that's just what it did with flying colors when the big upright I had bought failed miserably. After throwing the worthless upright in the garbage, I grabbed the Bissel and turned it to the job. It got the carpeting and the bare floors to the Queen's taste, and never complained. Don't do this at home, kids, unless you are as desperate as I was with company coming in a few hours and no other options.
The filter cleans easily, and Bissell sells easy to install replacements, too. It is a true three-in-one, which makes it a fine little upright as well as a comfortable and versatile hand held. The motor is powerful and trustworthy. The cord is extra-long and easy to wind on the handle. It picks up cat littler from a tile bathroom floor like it was special designed for that purpose. It flies over vinyl kitchen floors sucking up all the tiny particles that fall. It gets into corners like a champ.
Bottom line, buy this little gem if you want an all-purpose model for every-day vacuuming.

I have been in vacuum hell, I got a dyson YUK and a Dirt Devil vision YUK returned them both. Anyway I could not bring myself to get another vacuum right now, so I figured I would just get what I thought was junk for 19.99 until I finally figured out what vacuum to get. Anyway
1. Ordered it Sunday- received it on Tuesday basically overnite.
2. Packed Great
3. Took under 5 minutes from opening box to putting it together, weighs like 3lbs if.
4. Plugged it in saw same lint on the carpet which normally you have to run over couple times to lift. OMG it picked it right up.
5. Ok it does have this tiny tiny tiny dirt cup/bag thing.
but you can wash it out. WHO cares so you have to empty it between rooms.
6. SO IF YOUr LOOKING FOR SOMETHING SIMPLE FOR BASIC CLEANING LOOK NO FUTHER- ITS A DUST BUSTER THAT YOU CAN HOLD IN YOUR HAND, ITS A FLOOR CLEANER YOU CAN USE LIKE A VACUUM AND YES IT DOES WORK ON CARPETS.
7.IF THIS LASTS A YEAR YOUR WAY AHEAD OF THE GAME
8.AT LEAST I KNOW TO GET A REGULAR BISSELL VACUUM CLEANER WHEN I LOOK FOR ONE IN A COUPLE MONTHS.
PS DO NOT GET THE DYSON...WORST VACUUM EVER, NOT USER FRIENDLY.....

If you are looking for a product to clean your bare floors, look no further. I have a small house and no carpeting and I was tired of lugging around a huge canister vac, and a broom and dustpan just wasn't cutting it. I have a dog, a baby, and a husband and this makes daily cleaning a snap. I just empty it over a trash can after each room and clean the filter off with a rubber pet hair remover brush which works really well. Though some folks were complaining about this step, I still find using this vacuum more convienent than any other method. I really also like the detachable feature ... you can use it as a hand vac. I use it to clean the high chair and even crumbs off the counter. The crevace tool is really niftier than I thought it would be too. I can really get into cracks and crevaces easier than with the canister vac. And another big plus for me is that it hangs from my broom and mop rack up and out of the way. This is a must-have for bare floors and look no further if you are low on room. And if it breaks before its life expectancy, I'm just out of the $20. No tears. This is the perfect replacement for a broom and dustpan. And just like a broom and dustpan, it cleans best on bare floors, but only "okay" on some rugs/carpeting depending on the nap of the rug/carpet. It is very light weight, easy to assemble and use, and very affordable. You will get the most out of this appliance if you clean the filter after each use. I put on rubber gloves to brush off the collected hair, dust, and other "yeech" collected on my filter and inside the dust cup, with no problem. My favorite feature is the crevice device to go in corners and along the place where the floors meet walls to get up dust and "stuff". I also love that you can remove the long handle and use it as a hand vac (I do this to clean my sofa). While it's true that there is no snap-on area to hold the crevice tool, nor is the electric cord very long, that's what a rubber band and an extenstion cord is for. For the price, I don't think you can do better. I've had mine for about two years and haven't had a problem yet. I am ordering one for my sister because she has wood laminate and tile floors, and a cat.Customer Review: I'm Sold---And For Cheap!

Living in the Pacific Northwest (LOTS of trees) for me means sweeping endless amounts of pine needles off of my wood floors. I checked out the reviews for this little stick vac and decided it was worth a shot. The price can't be beat and this thing works perfectly for what I needed it for. I use it to vacuum the aforementioned pine needles, leaves and dog hair off of of the hard floors in my hallway, diningroom and kitchen. I also use it for quick spot vacuuming on my carpet between full-on vacuumings. It's not meant to be a regular vacuum, it doesn't deeply vacuum carpet, so don't expect that! Today I used the feature where you can pull the handle off and it becomes a hand vac. That worked well and I vacuumed the inside of my car, using the electrical outlet right next to my garage. It's light enough to do my stairs and absolutely exceeds my expectations. For my intended use of pretty much daily vacuuming of my hard floors, this Bissell Vac is the cat's pajamas. No more bending over and chasing dog hair and pine needle piles around to get them into the dustpan--hurray!
