Tools and Hardware Reviews of BISSELL 3106A Featherweight Lightweight VacuumCustomer Review: Don't waste your time with a broom Summary: 5 Stars
I have hardwood floors with area rugs. I've vacuumed twice in two weeks now and I am still amazed how much dirt it picks up. As for complaints about the cord length, fortunately, I already had an extension so that solved it! Very satisfied with it.
Only complaint so far is: BE CAREFUL of when you empty it or messing with it in a rugged manner. I dunno what I was doing...but I wasn't paying attention...MEANT to turn the vacuum off, but instead pressed the knob to empty it and out went the dirt all over the floor, lol. (Yeah, whoever designed this thing shouldn't have placed these things so close together...but really I am the retarded one). Another tip is...when you ARE ready to empty it (it's small, so probably every vacuum), do it right next to the trash can. Don't expect to open it up whereever you are and then walk it over to the trash can (short cord, remember?)...chances are there will be at least a lil mess. I love it..but not the best vacuum for the type of person who hates to touch dirt (I was going to wash my hands anyway so....)
Customer Review: Great for Everyday Messes Summary: 5 Stars
I've had the previous model (the 3 in 1) for about 3 years and LOVE IT!!
It's wonderful for picking up our little messes-the floor brush attachment is wonderful for tracking down dust bunnies and I just pull it off and use the handvac with a handle for the bigger stuff (we get A LOT of cheerios in the weirdest places).
Downside: It's Corded but for less than a cordless vaccum (that doesn't convert to a handheld) I got the Sweeper and an extension cord... After going through 3 cordless vaccums in 3 years (None of them seem to retain a charge after about 10 mos or so) I was Happy to go back to the cord and get the job done.
If you want a Vaccum, get one-this one won't handle big messes (I saw someone tried to pick up dog food in another review-this is not the purpose of this vac!!). For the little stuff this little tough sweeper can't be beat!!
I can't reccommend it highly enough and if you have this you won't have to get out your big vac unless you have a big spill and to get a good deep clean once/ week or so.
Customer Review: Love my little workhorse Summary: 5 Stars
I finally had to break down and replace my first edition of this handy little guy - after 6 years of near daily use. I have a large kitchen, two baths, and an access hallway from the garage, all vinyl flooring. Add to that two cats, a dog, and a third grader, and you have a pretty good idea what this vac can handle. Cleaning the dirt cup can get a little messy, but it's more than worth it for the overall convenience. I keep two filters handy at all times. An old toothbrush takes care of the hair and dust rather quickly. When I'm finished, I pop out the filter, brush it off, and give it a quick rinse under the tap. Slap on a dry filter, and it's ready to go again. The whole process takes less than a minute and half.
The light weight makes it perfect for my 8 year old daughter to use, it takes up virtually no space, and the cost simply can't be beat. I've bought them for my mom, mother in law, and best friend. They all love them too. When used for its intended purpose, this unit more than lives up to the job.
Customer Review: A "must have" Summary: 5 Stars
This is easy to use and very light weight. It was just what I needed between weekly visits from the wonderful person who actually vacuums for me (I HATE vacuuming with a passion).
I have a cat and a dog and I garden (sloppily) so I needed something like this that I'd actually use. I took it out of the box, assembled it in about a minute (without even having to read the directions) and I cleaned up my kitchen. It pulled up an amazing amout of fur, etc. Now I'm looking for things to clean.
It took me a few trys to get the emptying part down, but it's easy. Just remove the main unit from the "stick" and empty it over a trash can or empty it over a piece of newspaper on the floor. Since the body is plastic a bit of the fine dust may cling to the outer case, so have a damp paper towel handy to give it a quick exterior wipe. No big deal.
The price is so incredibly reasonable that I bought another one to keep next to the kitty litter box.
Customer Review: Great little sweeper Summary: 5 Stars
I just received my Bissell today and was very anxious to use it. We have a new home and the entire first floor is hardwood. I have been using a swiffer, having to stop and change the cloth and vacuum the particles up, so I was happy to get a sweeper that vacuums. This little machine is great! I was amazed at how much it picked up, even getting the leaves the dog brings in from outside. It's small enough to fit into tight spots, and even slides under the couch. I highly recommend this especially at the price of under $20.
My only complaint is that the cord is too short. I had to stop and change it several times to get through the first floor. But, I simply attached an indoor extension cord and only had to change the cord twice. The extra lenght the extension cord gives is perfect, and the holders to wind the cord around on the Bissell are large enough to accomodate the added extension cord.
Overall, I am very pleased with this vacuum!
