Customer Review: I could not get wrong with this vacuum

I am not really pleased with this vaccum after two years of use. Here is why:
## The vacuum is not really easy to carry around with the awkward handle. The hard handle tip broke one day.
## The hose (as some other reviewers noted) does not fit quite good in the holder: it falls off easily.
## The lever that secures it in the upright position broke one day.
## It's no good on hard floors, and there is no way I can stop the brush from rotating when I am using the hose.
However, it still cleans good if I wash the filter(s) and keep the brush clean from hair. I need to replace it soon. Had I known these issues before, I would have given it no more than 3 stars.

I have been using a Hoover Elite Supreme bagged vacuum for eight years. Since it lost its suction, I wanted to shop for another one. The Bissell 3594 PowerTrack Bagless in Amazon.com caught my attention along with the Eureka 4870 DT upright. I settled for the Bissell because of the lower price, apparently less maintenance cost, similar good reviews, and because Bissell was offering a free 3106A Featherweight Lightweight vacuum as a rebate till January 31, 2005 (although Eureka had a better rating in Consumer Reports). I ordered it on January 31 hoping to get the rebate, which had to be postmarked within 3 weeks. Unfortunately, Amazon.com ran out of these vacuums after I placed my ordered and they said that the vacuum would not be available before 5-6 weeks. They didn't want to take any responsibility on the rebate and referred me to Bissell customer care. I immediately contacted Bissell and was pleasantly surprised by their customer service. They took my information and assured me that I will get my rebate regardless of when the vacuum arrives. I received the vacuum after a month, sent the rebate form, and got my Featherweight within another 3 weeks. All in all, I got 2 vacuums for [...]. The Featherweight stopped my trip to the coin-operated car cleaning places.
Things I like about 3594 PowerTrack:
** Powerful 12 AMP suction without any disturbing noise - Cleans nicely, picks up dirt fast - a delight to vacuum.
** Long cord helps vacuum 2-3 rooms at once, good maneuverability.
** Things like the overall design, the dirt sensor light, the cup filling up etc. gives me some vacuuming pleasure.
** Bissell customer care - they are really great.
Things that could be improved:
** All vacuum cleaners catch hair on the brush - which causes them to lose suction and emit hair burning smell. In order to clean the brush - you have to unscrew the brush cover at the bottom every time. There should have been a better way (w/o screws like my old Hoover) to clean the brush rotor.
** The accessories (the turbo brush, the hose etc.) are not really up to the mark. The hose is heavy and does not fit securely to the back of the vacuum. I really didn't find much use of the turbo brush.
** Emptying the dirt cup and cleaning the filter above it is messy. Bagless vacuums are not for people with allergies. Anyway, I should not complain because I knew it. May be I have to get used to this. The power and effectiveness of this cleaner more than compensates for this trouble.
Overall, I could not get wrong with this vacuum.
