Customer Review: Expectations up... and up even more!

After reading all the reviews here, I decided to order this quasi-magical carpet cleaner. I had my expectations up, and, surprisingly, my impressions went up even more after I received it and started cleaning with it!! Suction is powerful and the carpet brush works like a charm. Just like everyone said here, the sensor is amazing! I was shocked by how some areas that seemed clean actually turned out dirty! And the sensor helped me focus my efforts in dirty areas and just walk through the clean ones. All in all, my first clean yielded about 1/3 the bucket, mostly dusts. I can't believe I was breathing in all that stuff! The HEPA filter turned gray a bit, and my guess is that it'll last about 5-10 more sessions before I need to replace it ($10 part). The Turbo Brush is useful in cleaning corners and hard-to-reach places, and I even used it to clean up my bedsheet. Overall a great carpet cleaner! Let me preface this by saying I've given a great review to my Fantom vacuum (which just died by the way) and must say, this vacuum is flat out great.
One sweep over carpet in our room and even I was amazed at what this thing pulled out! The bin was full after cleaning just one small room and the carpet definitely looked like it had been cleaned. I'm saying this after looking at our 4 year old builder grade carpet that is pretty matted down. Yet, the Bissell was able to pull up the fibers and make the carpet look really, really nice.
I agree with the attachments, they should be easier to get to. Another feature that would be nice would be a bigger collection bin. It's not much bigger than a sauce pot so be ready to do a lot of dumping if you vacuum large areas.
All in all, we got this vacuum for under $90 and would do it again in a heartbeat.

I was ready to buy a Hoover Windtunnel vacuum and read the reviews on Amazon and they were not very good. I saw this vacuum and the reviews were so positive and it was quite a bit less expensive so I decided to try it. I have never owned a bagless vacuum before and I think this one has definitely reduced the dust in my house quite a bit. I love the turbo brush for vacuumming my stairs and I love how all the attachments are right on the vacuum and the extension hose is already attached. It makes it very quick and easy to switch from normal vacuumming to using the attachments.
The only petty negative things I have noticed is that the vacuum puts out quite a bit of heat as you use it and the cord is attached on the right side. I am right handed and like the cord to be on the left so I can hold the cord w/ my left hand and push the vacuum w/ my right.

proved that. Yuck - just got the vacuum today. Had a Fantom canister which was doing "alright" or so I thought. House was vacuumed on Saturday with the old Fantom (which still works but has an electrical connection problem - not worth fixing). I'm a clean freak - 3 kids, 3 dogs - you can imagine the dust/dirt. I wish I could show you a picture after just 2 rooms - then, I did my upstairs which is where we "live" the most. Don't even ask - filth everywhere.
After reading all the reviews & the specs, I figured, hey, free shipping & $25 off (there was a promo), I can't go wrong.
You will not go wrong. The dirt this thing picks up is phenomenal.
My girlfriend has a Kirby & this is equal to or better. Hey, if it breaks after a year or two, for $105 vs. thousands for a Kirby - who cares? Buy it, you won't be sorry. - Linda

This is a great vacuum cleaner for the price. After almost five years of using an old Hoover, this vacuum cleaner came as salvation. I never thought that a single vacuum cleaner can come close to performing the feats this one so easily does. My old vacuum cleaner struggled to pick up dust. It was completely useless when it came to pet dander. Since we have a golden retriever, our rugs were constantly filled with an over layer of pet dander. We thought that no vacuum cleaner could fight off a shedding dog. Though the odds were stacked up high against this vacuum cleaner, it proved itself within minutes. First, it was incredibly simple to assemble. More importantly however, it did miracles in our rugs and I'm sure it can do so with carpet floors. It's also bag less, which is so a huge plus. It's definitely a marvel of modern technology. Two thumbs up to Bissell.
