Customer Review: If you have couches and chairs that 'grow' hair, you need this

I have two yellow labs who are spoiled and get to share the sectional couch in our living room with us. They shed year around and as a result each week or when company comes I need to remove the large quantities of yellow hair from the blue-green fabric of our furniture. I read many reviews and purchased this item specifically for this purpose. Before I bought this I tried many alternatives such as the throw away pet hair roller removers and other gadgets which cost around $5 a pop. I needed a much less and more effective long term solution to this problem short of getting rid of our hairy family members. I found it in this very inexpensive hand held vacuum. I was prepared to spend much more but am so glad that I didn't have to. The other solutions I used did work with a lot more time and effort than I now have to expend with this little pet hair devouring workaholic. Since I bought it and use it expressly for removing hair from my furniture I don't care that the power of the unit pushes a volume of air that might blow hair around the room off smooth surfaces as others have noted. It does what I ask of it quickly, easily, and effectively so I am happy. I don't use it for more than about 15 minutes per de-hairing session so I don't find the awkward handle impossible to use or damaging to my wrists and hands but I am sure if the handle were reversed in direction I might find it more comfortable to use. The power is amazing and the pink rubber end you see in the photo has little 'fingers' the help pull out stubborn hairs that are pretty well embedded in the fabric without having to go over the same area time after time like you often have to with plastic attachments on a regular vacuum. If you need to remove pet hair from fabric covered furniture this inexpensive and easy to store little dynamo is your next investment bar none. I use it to clear a 6 person sectional couch and a rocker recliner of all pet hair before I dump the unit out. When I dumped it out for the first time I was stunned to see how much dirt it had also pulled from the furniture which was coating the internal filter. I took it outside and used a can of compressed to air to blow out the filter before putting it back in. The power this thing has is quite impressive. I think it is much stronger than the suction created by applying the crevice tool to the standard full size vacuum and that's pretty strong. I am sure this unit is not intended to be used all around the house for general cleaning of all surfaces hence the name "pet hair eraser", so as long as you are buying it to suck hair off fabric surfaces I am sure you will be as happy with it as I am. If you want a cheap handheld vacuum to clean carpeted stairways or other large surfaces you would do better to buy a cheap, lightweight handheld wet/dry vac from Lowes or Home Depot for $50 since this unit is quite small and therefore does not have a large capacity container.
