Tools and Hardware Reviews of BISSELL SpotBot Hands-Free Compact Deep Carpet Cleaner, 1200BCustomer Review: Great for any pet owners or parents! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this product in the middle of Novermber and have been absolutely thrilled with it! I originally purchased (and returned)the Bissell Spot Lifter. Amazingly enough, the extra money for the SpotBot was TOTALLY worth it. I have 2 dogs, and the chihuahua puppy has not been totally housebroken yet. This is absolutely wonderful for cleaning up those little spots you find here or there...just set the SpotBot on it, push the start button, and your mess is taken care of. My husband didn't believe it could clean that well, so he did a carpet smell test and even with his nose to the floor, there was no residual urine smell. I would recommend this product to anyone with pets or kids (who tend to spill things), and who doesn't want to own a full-size steam cleaner. This is perfect for spot cleaning, and it even gets out set-in stains. If you don't want to hassle with a full-size steam cleaner for just one or two spots at a time, this is PERFECT. And it can be stored with cleaning solution in it, ready to go. This product is great! You can use the manual hose feature to clean a whole room if you want, definatlely large areas! I have had this product for almost 3 months and have had NO problems with it. And it's not like I don't use it, I use it just about every other day. No problems at all, it's the greatest thing to come into my life since the chihuahua puppy who caused us to buy it in the first place! I highly recommmend this to anyone with pets in particular, it is a Godsend!
Customer Review: This should come included when you purchase a pet Summary: 5 Stars
After owning a bulemic cat for a year I was fed up with sprays and scrubbing. I saw this on "I want that" TV show and I wanted it. I purchased it elsewhere but now use Amazon for all my researching and most purchases so I thought I'd give my 2 cents.
For the bad parts (and solutions I have come up with)
It does leave round spots (or boobs as my husband calls them) - use the hose and attachment to brush out any patterns.
Carpet is a wet - again use the attachment to suck up more water.
Uses solution quickly - don't use so much solution. I rented a Rug Dr and had a bottle of extra solution. I had run out of SpotBot solution so I used a small amount of Rug Dr solution. It works even better than the SpotBot stuff.
This thing is so easy to use, my two year old knows how to turn it on and off. He's figured out how long it will take and will rush to the machine when he thinks it's going to stop.
Overall, I highly recommend this to anyone with pets or kids. It really does a great job cleaning. It's very durable, we've been using ours for 4 or 5 years now, at least twice a month.
There are a few things I would change if I could, allow the hose to come off so it can be cleaned. Mine is disgusting, when I inquired about getting a replacement, I was told it would have to be taken to a service center. :o( I also wish it wasn't so loud. Can't hear much of anything if it's on in the room you're in.
Customer Review: This is exactly what we needed for our carpet problems Summary: 5 Stars
We have an elderly dog who is in his last days and who is having "accidents". We have a puppy who is not quite trained yet. We have a middle-aged dog who, with all this fun going on, has chosen not to remain house-broken. I am VERY squeamish and hate to clean carpets after nasty accidents. Happily, we have a good dog trainer who is helping with the problems that can be helped - but our elderly dog will continue his accidents because he cannot help it at this point. So we have all these carpet spots (of both varieties) to deal with on an ongoing basis...
I cannot state strongly enough how much I love this hands-free machine. I clean the worst of it, and the machine does the rest - quite nicely. It runs through its little cycle, and has lights like a dishwasher, letting you know exactly where it is in its cycle. It has worked now dozens and dozens of times. It doesn't fuzz up our carpet, but we have Berber, which might be hard to fuzz up. If it died a premature death I would happily buy it again. This has been a terrific purchase that has helped this unpleasant problem of ours.
The only down-side, which is very minor, is that if I don't empty the take-up container, it sloshes around while cleaning and wets the carpet. As long as I maintain the little machine, it works like a champ. Bissell 1200B SpotBot Hands-Free Compact Deep Cleaner Carpet Cleaner
Customer Review: Get off the fence! This is worth the money! Summary: 5 Stars
I was hesitant to get this purely because of the price but now I know I should never have waited! I have white carpets and two indoor cats who throw up often. Not just hairballs, but sometimes their nasty yellow-brown food.
I also had footprints from my handyman's shoes because he accidentally stepped off the plastic sheets when he came to fix something (yes, I'm a clean freak... I have a no-shoes rule in my house). Needless to say, my carpet was badly stained with kitty puke and dirt.
After the SpotBot arrived, I immediately pulled it out of the box and put it to work on the stains. It magically removed 10 stains that night! Also, I originally used a Woolite carpet stain remover on the spots, so I didn't add any extra soap to the SpotBot. This worked out perfectly coz the Woolite soap residue was enough to power out the spots (the water and suction was all that was missing! Blotting a stain is so NOT effective).
Now, instead of running to try and catch the hairballs before they touch the ground, I just smile and let the kitties do their thing coz I know the SpotBot will get the stain out! Usually, I just let the SpotBot run on its own. But on deeper set stains or larger areas, the manual hose works just as well. Plus, I haven't had to buy any soap solution coz I just spritz a little of the Woolite on the stain, spray it with water, and suck up all the nastiness! Good bye stains! Thank you Bissell!!
Customer Review: Amazing!!! Summary: 5 Stars
First some background: 4 years ago at Christmas time, my sister sent us 2 lbs. of Belgian chocolate. Unaware that there was food in the packages that she sent, I put them under the tree and went to work. That night (as my husband was at his office holiday party) I came home to 16 separate piles of dog vomit, etc. around my newly carpeted house. I cleaned up the best I could, and we even rented a steamer from the market, but those stains were there to stay. P.S. The pooch was and is fine!
Now my review: I bought the Spot Bot yesterday, brought it home, and we immediately put it on one of the biggest stains. We used the basic cleanser and put it on the super dirty setting. Result: In 6 minutes the stain was gone!!! It seemed too good to be true, and we've been checking the spot for the last 24 hours in all types of light to make sure we were missing something, but you know what??? THE STAIN IS GONE! One note: when you empty the dirty water tank, it tends to drip so plan ahead.
Response to other reviews: Some say it's too heavy; we didn't find that to be the case. Some say it leaves a too clean spot; we didn't find that to be the case and have now used it in a few locations. Some say it uses too much cleanser; from my perspective, I would gladly spend a few $ on cleanser than replace a house full of carpeting.
Overall we love this product and can't wait for the cat's next furball on our new basement carpeting!
