Tools and Hardware Reviews of BISSELL Versus Bare-Floor Vacuum with Brushless V-Shape Technology, 76T8

Customer Review: Yay! dirt and dog hair gone!
Summary: 5 Stars

Our house was built in 1899 and we have the original wood floors, as well as 2 large shedding dogs who go outside. I have been keeping the dog fur up with a large janitor type cotton push broom. As soon as I bought this vacuum I swept with the push broom as usual and then ran the vacuum over the floors and was so surprised with the amount of dirt and hair this vacuum picked up off of what appeared to be a clean floor. Even after sweeping, our floors would feel dirty on bare feet, so I would always wear shoes in the house- not any more. It works really well. I love the shape of the vacuum, it does a great job getting the fur that collects around furniture legs. It is a bit loud and the cord is too short, but it is worth the sacrifice for the awesomeness it does on cleaning our the dirt and dog hair off of the old floors. It even suctions dirt out of the cracks in the floor boards without using the tool piece. Overall I love it.

Customer Review: Good Suction and Does Not Damage Hard Floors
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this based on the review in Consumer Reports. We have 750 sq. ft. of new floors and mopping or sweeping with a broom were just not working. I could not use my Sebo upright vacuum with its beater brush (would void the warranty on the floor), so I decided to purchase something new. This one does EXACTLY what I bought it for: it sucks up all of the dog hair (amazing how much there is even after one day) and dirt (from two dogs & two cats) very quickly, and is very gentle on the floor (no scratches). I don't particularly like the V-shape, and it does lift up a bit sometimes, but other than that it performs very well. It was an excellent purchase, especially considering the price. I wish it had a straight shape (rather than V), but I have done a lot of research and it is the best vacuum of this type available right now (in my opinion). I am satisfied with it and would purchase it again.

Customer Review: Love this vac
Summary: 5 Stars

For weeks, I read reviews about this product. I also read Consumers Org. reviews. I finally made up my mind to buy the Versus when I found it under $50 at a warehouse store. I love it.

Yes, it feels odd to handle, for about 1 minute. I have four cats and six litter boxes. Picks up litter with no problem. A bit loud, but what vacuum is silent? It does blow air that forces dust out of the hiding places to be sucked up with the Versus. Works great on my laminate floors and my short napped throw rugs.Glides over thresholds. Lightweight and easy to empty the canister.I am 5'6 and it is comfy for my height.

The attachment is so powerful it will pull the vacuum over, but I just hold down the vacuum foot with my foot. I have only used it a few times for hard to reach stuff. If you plan to do shades or ceiling corners, stick with your handheld Shark.

Customer Review: Great vacuum
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this vacuum! I have hardwood floors throughout my house and had previously been using a cordless vacuum. I wanted to buy another cordless, but reading through the reviews I read someone say something like "cordless just aren't powerful enough" and it's so true. This vacuum does not have spinning brushes, so no more little pebbles being thrown out all around the floor. I hated that.

The shape of the vacuum head is weird, but once you get used to it and the swivel it's really great. It works great on my kitchen rugs and my area rugs. I like the hose - it's very powerful and works great in the crack between my sliding doors.

All-in-all this is the perfect vacuum. I wish it were cordless, but then I know it wouldn't be powerful enough. Oh and I bought this vacuum in the store at a much lower price.

Customer Review: Finally a solution for non-carpeted floors
Summary: 5 Stars

I have tile and laminate flooring throughout the house. I also have seven (yup, that's 7) dogs that shed, and that track in dirt and debris from the yard through the doggie door. This meant constant sweeping to keep the floors clean. The traditional vacuum did not do well - just blew the hair about. The swiffer type product also couldn't tackle the dog hair, and I went through sheets and sheets each week.
With some trepidation based on mixed reviews, I bought the versus. It worked like a dream! Got the dirt, dog hair, yard debris et al better than the broom and collected it for easy disposal. The cord could be longer, but is okay. The handling is a bit awkward at first use, but I easily learned to adapt. I am now using the versus daily and my floors are CLEAN! Definitely worth the money.
