Customer Review: Pleasantly Surprised

I was looking at Swiffers when I read a review directing me to this product. I decided to check it out and even though it was more expensive, I figured it would be a better investment in the long run.
I got this in the mail very quickly. I noticed the terror in my husband's eyes when the somewhat large box was waiting for us. I opened it up, saw that there were only two screws in the box and sent him off to watch tv. The assembly was super easy and fast (if I can do it, anyone can).
Then I put this to work on my kitchen floor. We have a large Doberman that manages to track in every bit of dirt she can find. She also makes a pond out of the floor area next to her food and water dishes. I ran this (only having to stop and really steam a few trouble spots) and the floor looks great. I was surprised at how well the steam removed dried on dirt and gunk.
I then pulled the cloth off and threw it in the dirty laundry basket. Simple and effective. I went a little bit slower than I would have with a Swiffer just because I wanted the steam to really work but I am not sure that made a huge difference. Overall, I am happy. I am going to do some reading on the filter life and perhaps order a few extra cloths but that's about it.

This mop is absolutely wonderful! I've never cared for mops because they don't get the corners and edges to my satisfaction, so I've spent a lifetime on hands and knees. The Bissell mop is unlike any other. It does an excellent job...even in tight corners in the bathroom! The terry cloth mop cover wraps up and around the mop head, so even the edges get clean. The mop cover is sturdy and durable...just toss it in the laundry and it's fresh and clean for the next use. They even include a spare! Unlike other mops that use disposable mop covers, future costs on this one are minimal. These are heavy duty mop covers, so I suspect they'll last at least a year. Nearly my entire first floor is ceramic tile, so I used to spend 30-45 minutes washing the floor. I can now sail through it in 10 minutes...making it easy to do a quick clean mid-week if I want to. I would not recommend this for wood floors; it would get too wet and would result in warping the wood over time. Ideal for ceramic, marble, or vinyl, though. This was the best investment I've made in a long time! It's constructed of good quality materials (not flimsy and breakable), yet very lightweight so that using it is not a chore. This is my first Bissell product, so I'm very impressed.Customer Review: Great product for my household!

I have white tile in Las Vegas aka DUST CENTRAL. We use the Bissell Steam Mop 3-4 times a week to maintain our tile floors. It is fantastic for that use! I am not using it for really heavy cleaning, but maintenance to keep my floor clean, so I do not have to DEEP clean every week. I love that I am not using any harsh chemicals and that I can just thrown the microfiber pads into the wash when I am finished.
Occasionally, my dogs will have an accident on the floor and I can pull the mop out and steam it clean. I just leave the mop on the spot for 30-60 seconds, as recommended by the manufacturer and the tile and grout (which is really difficult to clean!) is clean and sanitized.
My mop gets really hot, really fast and I am careful to use distilled water, as my water in LV is really hard and it is recommended in the instructions.
I was surprised by the length of the cord, as there were so many complaints on here. The cord is plenty long enough for my kitchen, bathrooms, and living room. I just have to plug-into each room - which is fine with me, as if the cord is too long it is bulky when not in use.
I definitely recommend this mop as it is a great tool to have for your floors!

OK, it's the first steam mop I've owned, so I have nothing to compare it to.
I've owned this steam cleaner for about 2 years and absolutely love it! It cleans my vinyl, tiled, and manufactured wood floors quickly and they are really clean. It doesn't get into the corners, but I use a microfiber cloth around the edges and my floors are spotlessly clean. This steamer was able to remove dirt that I didn't know I had. My vinyl floor is 18 years old and had worn spots. Previously, I needed to use chemicals and really scrub the worn areas to make them blend in with the remainder of the floor. The Bissell Steam Mop quickly cleans these areas and makes my floor look like new. I love the fact that I'm not using chemicals. After steam cleaning my floors, the house has a really fresh scent.
The drawbacks are the short cord (wish it were about 5 feet longer) and the fact you can't turn it off. This requires me entering the cleaned area, which may still be damp, to unplug it.
I don't have any problems with wet floors when using it. My floors dry quickly. However, I can see that people with really dirty floors may have to go over the same spots numerous times which will leave the floor wet.

This Mop makes mopping the floor sooooo much easier than with a standard mop! There is no elbow grease involved in mopping the floor anymore with this mop! Just press the steam button, hold it over the mess for a couple of seconds and the spot is gone! Absolutley NO Scrubbing required! This is the most wonderful mop I have ever used. I used to use the Colorox Ready mop, but got tired of buying refill cleaner and refill pads, then the same with the swiffer mop. These type mops make me feel like I am just spreading the dirt around te floor. With this Bissel Steam Mop because it actually Sanitizes the floor with the steam, the floor is so nice and truly clean~ You can walk across the floor with white socks and they actually stay white. I recommend this especially if you have pets and small children. You get that Steam fresh clean feeling with very little work and NO elbow grease or Scrubbing. Just make sure you buy extra pads, incase you want to mop every floor in the house, you don't want to have to stop and wash and dry the pad before you can continue! Saves money also over buying cleaning agent and refills for the other guys~ THANKS BISSELL, YOU HAVE MADE MY LIFE SO MUCH EASIER!~ I actually look forward to mopping the floor~
