Excellent product that works as advertised. I had a big brown coffee stain on my carpet that had been there for a few months. I tried using my handheld carpet cleaner but it didn't have much of an impact. I followed the directions on the rug stick and worked the stain from every angle. The rug stick removed it completely which then motivated me to go around the house cleaning every stain I could find. Stain after stain came up. It's a little bit of work but easier than hauling out your carpet cleaner.
A few things to note. This kit comes with a 9 oz. "trial size" of the heavy traffic cleaner. It was enough for me to clean about 6-7 stains so far but I would suggest also buying an extra can in the normal 22 oz. size Bissell #0820 22OZ Woolite Cleaner. Otherwise I would say the slight cons are that you need to rinse the rug stick off after use to remove fibers and pet hair and it's another long "broom-like" item that needs to be stored although you can disassemble it if you need to gain space.
In summary I would highly recommend this product, it makes stain removal quick and easy and if you're the type of person who gets really irked by carpet stains you will find this very handy.

I don't understand all the negative reviews on Amazon for this product. I have used the Woolite Rug Stick for the last couple of years and have been very satisfied with it.I recently got a new rug stick as I lost the original one while moving to a new apartment. The Rug Stick does two amazing things
1) It is great at picking up pet hairs(or any hairs for that matter) from the carpet
2) It loosens the other debris that are buried or stuck deep in the carpet so that if you vacuum the carpet immediately after cleaning it with the Woolite Rug Stick, you will pick up debris and junk that you would not have otherwise picked up.
If you have old/stubborn stains on the carpet , don't expect them to magically disappear from your rug/carpet after one cleaning with this product but I am not sure if that is a realistic expectation anyway. I have seen the Rug Stick do a decent job with fresh easy to remove stains and have even seen it reduce the hard and stubborn stains . You would probably need multiple cleanings to get rid of stubborn stains.
Overall, It is a great value for money and does a great job at cleaning the carpets and rugs.

I have a cream colored rug under my kitchen table and although I don't have kids I ended up with quite a few spots around the table and two very terrible red mud spots from shoes. I figured I'd try this instead of driving 2 hours somewhere to buy a new rug. I was pretty skeptical but figured it was worth a shot. EVERY single spot came out. I was soooo thrilled I couldn't believe how well this would work. (I almost never write reviews, I just couldn't believe how great it turned out.) I had bought the full size can and didn't use the small one. For my 5x7 rug I used about 2/3 of the big can. This rug stick was well worth the cost.
Side note and bonus... that rug stick pulled up tons and tons of my hair from the carpet! It was actually a little gross that my vacuum didn't suck those up.

I must confess after I read the the reviews, some negative, I was hesitant but for the money I went ahead and gave it a try. Am I glad I did-I had set-in stains, either coffee or tea that someone had spilled and no matter what I did, it wouldn't come up. I did exactly as someone suggested, went at it from all different angles and really worked the foam in. I also discovered another larger stain when I lifted up a rug I had on top and attacked that as well. The stick didn't break, I didn't have to kneel down and the carpet is now drying. I can honestly say it looks ten times better than before-I can still see some faint stains which means I am getting the regular size can and going over it again-maybe it works differently on various carpets but I am so glad I purchased it. My rug really looks like new!Customer Review: Worked great for me!! Now I don't have to replace the carpet!!

This rug stick did an excellent job for me. I recently remodeled and painted an upstairs bedroom the TEENAGERS left. The blue carpet was very tired and the traffic areas had me convinced it would have to be replaced. After using this rug stick on the main traffic area, I was absolutely AMAZED!! I could tell a huge difference before it even dried. Yes I did have to go over it again, but the color is bright, and the carpet stands up like new. The second time around was well worth avoiding the expense of replacement. It is not back-breaking work, stick is lightweight and simple to use. My foam did seem to have a mind of its own at times, but I don't care. I don't need new carpet!! I'm still amazed how great my old carpet looks, I just can not believe it. Well worth the modest price and effort required.
