I've tried many and this is by far the best. Residue if any is minimal and the scent if very pleasant and trust me, if a scent is bad, I will react to it. Have used the other brands and they have a pretty powerful chemical odor that stays around for days. I have not used the carpet stick that you can buy with this but I do use my koblenz spinning brush machine and gotta say that this works better than any of the other products i've tried. won't say my 12 year old beige carpet looks like new but definitely gets it clean enough to have guests over and feel confident that they'll know my house is clean.Customer Review: Got the stains mostly out but the SMELL is AWFUL!

I used this on the area of carpet that my preschooler plays on the most. It had a little ground in crayon, some spilled pink medicine, and just general ground in dirt from constant play. The area was about 5 foot by 4 foot.
Did it get the stains out? Mostly. With reapplication and elbow grease.
BUT it is now 2 days later and we still can not go into that room. The chemical, fake perfumy smell is overpowering. Despite doing our best to stay well out of the area, I've had a near constant headache and my daughter has been complaining about an upset stomach. I have finallly borrowed a Bissel floor cleaner from a friend in the hopes of washing the chemical smell out of the carpet. The rest of my can of cleaner is in the garbage.
UPDATE: It's been 2.5 weeks since I "cleaned" the carpet and I can finally sit in that room without developing a headache. At this point, any fabric items (stuffed animals, blankets, etc) that are left on the floor in the area that I cleaned still pick up a faint smell from the cleaner but it fades quickly once the item is removed and allowed to air out. I will never, ever use this product again.
