After having my son my hair started to fall out a lot. Now that he crawls around the house and my office I find my hair in between his fingers all the time. I bought one for the office and it works so well picking us staples, dust, my hair and all the carpet fuzz in the corners, which you don't get to with a regular vacuum, that I bought another one for my apartment. The noise startles my son at first but he gets used to it. I don't think it is too loud. The suction is great. It picks up all the things that a regular vacuum does. I hate to lug out the regular vacuum and this dustbuster is fast becoming my vacuum of choice. I like how it is so easy to just get it and start vacuuming. I use it to clean up the area where my son will be playing. One time I used it to vacuum my small 2 bedroom apartment and it started to loose charge when I was finishing up. I guess to clean a large area is a job too big for this hand held vacuum but I'm completely happy with my dustbuster. If you are looking for a convenient hand held vacuum with enough power to pick up more than just dust for a small area, this is a great dustbuster for the job.Customer Review: Finally, a decent DustBuster--this one really works!

My husband and I have owned a variety of DustBusters over the years. Too frequently, we have been disappointed with the performance of the model, and each one has eventually died completely. When we were once again ready to purchase a new DustBuster this past fall, this time, we went with the priciest model available at the store where we shopped (Target). Finally, we have found a product that does not disappoint! This DustBuster, while larger than other models we have previously owned, is still relatively lightweight, and we had no problems using the included hardware to attach the recharger unit to our wall. But most impressive is the sucking action--this model clearly outperforms all others we have tried, and the two speeds have provided plenty of power for every cleaning task which we have given it so far. The barrel removes easily for emptying, and an additional nice feature is a dial which allows you to rotate the filter, thus reducing the frequency with which the filter must be cleaned (I haven't had to clean ours yet). If you need a new DustBuster, look no further than this one--highly recommended!Customer Review: Performs as advertised

This is a replacement for the earlier model dustbuster (9.6 volt). All products have a limited life. The battery (B&D proprietary) needed replacement after a reasonable period of useful service and I decided to go with newer and better.
This is measurably quieter than the 9.6 Volt Dustbuster and has the same pickup performance as far as I can tell. Also, I can't say how long it lasts between charges as the jobs I use it for are 5-6 minutes or less and I haven't had the opportunity or occasion to use it longer. It works, charges and has the same attachments as the previous model with some minor improvements in the ergonomics. I was satisfied with the earlier model, but this is quieter and should have longer operating time between charges with the 14.4 volt power system.
The only knock I have read is that the battery is not user replaceable. This is true; however, I don't feel qualfied to support that objection since I don't know how cost-effective the alternatives might be.
In short, it does what I need it to do (light, occasional cleaning).

I seriously needed a vacuum cleaner around the apartment, but what to do? The usual hoover models are all pretty expensive, $100+, and I didn't want something too big either. Well, the lower model 9.6V version of this didn't get stellar reviews, but everyone seems very happy with this model, so I thought, for $10 more, I get extra suction, peace of mind, and better build quality.
Here are some initial thoughts; weight and heft feel very solid, and well built. Very easy to dump out collected dust, and the suction, as othes have said, is very powerful. I used it to vacuum my car, and every part of the apartment! I love it, it's great, makes cleaning fun.
I cut my hair the other day- what to do about all the hair on the floor and sink? Well, I grabbed my now favorite tool, and cleanup was a cinch. In 5 minutes, with the powerful hum of the motor, the bathroom was sparking clean and devoid of hair.
And, it comes with a 2 year full warranty, which is great. I love you dustbuster!
Customer Review: The dust buster that really works!!

I bought one of these over a year ago and we've used it almost every day since. This little vacuum is powerful and it really does bust the dust! Dust busters have been around many years, but this is the first one that genuinely has enough power to do the job.
It's expecially helpful if you've got small children who are continually getting crumbs of stuff on the floor or walking in dirt from outside. Just grab this thing for an instant cleanup!
Fast forward to March 2007.
Well, now the rechargeable battery doesn't hold a charge. The battery is very specialized, and you can't just get one anywhere. In fact, I found only one supplier on the web. The battery costs well over half what a new one of these costs. So, I'm replacing this with a corded hand held vacuum. What a waste. Cordless is overrated. I'd rather just have something that I can plug into the wall and depend on to work. Extension cords aren't the end of the world.
