Based on the reviews I recently bought this dustbuster from Amazon.com. WOW! I am impressed, I love this thing!
I have a 2 y.o, a furbaby (dog) and a new baby due any day. This is a must for homes with children and/or shedding pets. No more hauling out the big ol Hoover to clean up a couple of cheerios or doggy fur.
Great for wood, linoleum, carpet.
Its even powerful enough to clean my stairs - woohoo! Also handy to clean tight spaces.
I hesitated buying this bec I wasnt sure how much I'd use it ... Boy, am I glad I bought it! It makes my life so much easier.

I LOVE this Dustbuster. It's perfect. I remember the old Dustbusters of the 80s that wouldn't pick up much after the first 45 seconds. They have come a long way since then.
I got this Dustbuster mainly to pick up kitty litter around the litterbox, and it works great for that.
People that expect a dustbuster to do the job of a real vacuum make me laugh. These things aren't made to use on carpet or rugs, duh! People are always looking for a shortcut when it comes to cleaning (really, I understand that), but good god, sometimes you have to get off your you-know-what, dust off that vacuum, and do some real cleaning!

I've had this product now for over two years and it is still doing a great job. The other dustbuster I have which has 9.6 volt is almost dead however. I'm looking to get another one for the third floor of our house. It's terrific for sucking up hair, debris and other little things left everywhere by the kids. It's a little expensive but if this thing lasts me another year, it would certainly be less expensive than less powerful alternatives.
Update - 4/2007. We have purchased another one to replace the 9.6 volt one. This is definitely the better product to purchase if you are comparing the two.

I am always amused by people who complain about handvac's batteries running out. I figure they must really like to clean. I am not one of those people. This vacuum's battery hasn't once run out on me. I use it daily to clean up the hard floors in my apartment.
The vac is very well designed, I love that the tools are "on-board," a nice feature. It's also very easy to clean out the filter and dust compartment.
I would make sure to mount the charging base into a wall stud. I didn't and it came out within a few weeks. The vac's a little on the heavy side, so it needs that extra support.

DustBuster products are always tough and durable and invaluable to have around for quick cleanups. Charge it up and keep it in the car for trips and you've got the solution to those spilled potato chips on the upholstery. Great for sucking annoying Christmas tree needles off the carpet, the kitty litter the cat tracked out of his box, threads and scraps in the sewing room, small spills in the kitchen, hairs and fuzz in the bathroom....this would also make a wonderful gift for a college student to use in a dorm, someone with a hobby workroom...DustBuster always performs and is a wonderful value for the money
