The clip is designed to slip over the frame temple shaft and slip freely until stopped by the wide temple tip, the frame front, or your ear. This allows the clip to rest in front of the ear making placement and removal quick and easy.

If the temple tips on your glasses are less that 1/4 inch wide, this isn't for you.

Otherwise the clips hold the eyeglasses well enough the prevent loss during normal use but not so firmly that injury or eyeglass breakage would occur as a result of a very strong pull.

I am ordering my second one today for the sunglasses I keep in our second car.
