This systemic insecticide finally controlled an aphid infestation that was severely damaging both the appearance and health of my oleanders. Whether I used "green" controls (water jet washing, insecticidal soap) or insecticidal sprays, colonies of aphids would always return in only a few days. This went on for years, but after a single application of this product, the aphids were gone, and my plants now look beautiful.
This is a heavy duty insecticide that must be used with great care, in accordance with the label instructions. It is applied to the soil, so that the insecticide is taken up into the plants through their roots. This makes the plants themselves poisonous to both beneficial insects, like ladybugs, and destructive insects, like aphids. The systemic insecticide also makes the soil unsuitable for growing food crops for a period of time after each application. (Each application should last for several months.) Therefore, this easy-to-apply insecticide should only be used when lesser measures fail.
If you have many plants or more than one large plant that needs treatment, you should consider purchasing the more economical 4# size Bonide Systemic Granules 4#.
