I paid over $100 plus tax for a toothbrush like this over two years ago and am still using it. My wife got a different brand that she used. Hers quit so I ordered this one from amazon for $24. This one doesn't have a charger but then my charger works fine and they only need to be charged once every couple of weeks. I have no idea why they have two speeds but then its not a problem. I was very pleased to be able to purchase the braun toothbrush handle without having to buy the whole unit. It replaces my 10 year old handle that was wearing out. Free shipping was timely. I have had this model of Braun since 2003...it still runs and charges, but I thought it was bound to quit sooner or later, and I wanted a spare on hand...does a fine job....buying the core unit is the better choice if you already have the other components.
