I ordered this desk for a home office and could not be more pleased. My husband and I put it together in less than two hours and the instructions were easy to follow. yes, it does have a lot of parts and you have to take it step by step, but we had no issues. There was not a scratch on it and it fits in perfectly with the decor in our condo. It is not a large desk, so works best where space is a premium. I heeded the warning in one review as to scratches on the surface (it is, after all a cherry finish) and am using a deskpad. The front and sides are a distressed look anyway, so an inevitable scratch with wear is not going to be as noticeable. If you want something at a very reasonable price that looks like you paid a lot more, choose this desk.Customer Review: love it!

Here are my thoughts:
!) Nice looking desk. For the price you pay, the desk is a good looking piece of furniture.
2) Assembly took me roughly 6 to 8 hours, if I had to be honest. There were 25 pages of instructions, which, once I got used to how to read them, went pretty smoothly. You'll need a good phillips screwdriver and a hammer for the last step. There were also many different types of screws and fasteners, each with their own separate label. It felt a little daunting at first, but I got the hang of it after awhile.
3) The desk is sturdy once you attach the backboard with the 34 little nails they give you.
4) If you don't want to assemble your desk, consider going to a furniture store where you will pay a lot more.
5) All the construction is pressed board. There is no solid wood if that is what you're looking for.
6) I think the desk will have the build quality that you give it...do a good job, and the desk will have a good build quality.
7) It comes in a box that is roughly the size of a box used to ship a bicycle. It is very heavy, and you will almost certainly need either somebody to help you carry it to your office, or a dolly to wheel it in. Seriously.

Very attractive product. Took me longer than anticipated to put it together, not because it was difficult but because there are many pieces and many more screws/various hardware. I'm so thankful the delivery guys were willing to haul it up the stairs and into my office because I never would have been able to do it on my own without opening the box and carrying each piece individually. It was extraordinarily heavy.
I never did figure out how to get the flip-down tray installed correctly, and the instructions were a bit less than helpful in that respect, so I left it off.
Aside from that, I now have a much more attractive desk for less $$ than what I could find at my local Office Max, so I'm quite pleased with this purchase despite the intentionally missing flip-down piece of the pull out drawer. I did not buy the hutch as I have no use for anything like that.
