Tools and Hardware Reviews of Chamberlain KLIK1U Clicker Transmitter Universal Garage Door Remote ControlCustomer Review: Great replacement Summary: 5 Stars
Actually ordered this and got the Liftmaster version (http://www.amazon.com/Liftmaster-Remote-Clicker-Universal-Transmitter/dp/B0015D3UD0/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top), which is identical to this one on the inside. So make sure and ask the seller what you are getting. The Liftmaster version was about $4 more, but it seemed to have better range to me than the actual clicker version here (I got one of those from a big box, for almost twice the price). They program the same, are both easy as pie, and seem to work wonderfully. I couldn't be happier with this unit (although I've only had it a few days).
I used it for two garage openers, one with a dip switch and the other a Genie Intellicode. Works fantastic.
Customer Review: Good range, nice replacement for my Craftsman Summary: 5 Stars
Bought this after losing my original Craftsman remote. I've found this opens the garage from the bottom of the driveway and beyond. Even through the bushes in my neighbour's front yard. Trick is to lower the visor to which the remote is attached.
Clip is versatile enough to attach to thick and thin visors of my two cars.
My Craftsman was an old model, but still had a "smart learning" orange button. Programming was easy. The footnote suggested that Crafstman models were identical to Chamberlain. So when I pressed the remote's learn button twice as suggested for Chamberlain models, the garage lights blinked. Then pressed the remote button again to lock in the code. That was it!
Customer Review: Works great! Summary: 5 Stars
I just purchased the KLIK1U Clicker from Amazon, and it works great! I have two older (circa 199?) openers: a Stanley Intellicode and a Genie with dip switches. Setting up the Clicker for both of these was reasonably straightforward. The Stanley was up and running in about 3-minutes. The Genie setup took a little longer since I didn't get the dip switches set right on the first couple of tries. But after that, programmed just fine. I checked out the range and the Clicker worked from 70 feet away from my garage. I know some complained about the range being not so good, but I didn't find that to be the case. I am very happy with my purchase and just wish I'd done this a long time ago.
Customer Review: Exceeded My Expectations! Summary: 5 Stars
With a 25 year old Stanley opener on one garage door and a 5 year old LiftMaster on the other, I never expected the universal remote to work at all. At worst I would be out $20.00 but wiser. At best it might work with one door. The crazy unit worked perfectly on *BOTH* doors with only ten minutes programming time total. I have already ordered a second remote for our other car.
First hint, watch the programming video, it helps. Second hint, for listed door openers, the instructions specify the number of times to press the activator while programming. Don't worry if your opener is not listed, just press until the opener activates the door or its light.
Customer Review: Works exactly as stated on two different openers Summary: 5 Stars
I read the reviews and was nervous it would not open my garages. I have a single Genie Intellicode boat gargare door and a double Chamberlain Liftmaster garage door. I followed the instructions and was able to program a single remote to two different manufactured garage openers. Follow the instructions exactly as stated. Make sure you wait for the lights as instructed. Worked flawlessly for me. A little pricey but at least I don't have to have multiple openers and always have to guess which opens which garage. If you have similar circumstances buy it!
