Tools and Hardware Reviews of Chamberlain KLIK1U Clicker Transmitter Universal Garage Door Remote Control

Customer Review: Works like a charm!
Summary: 5 Stars

I already knew how the product worked as I purchased one from a local hardware store for $20 more than the price I got it on Amazon.com. The clerk at the hardware store was pretty sure that it would work (this is after I went to a Sears store only to be told that I probably had to buy a whole new garage door opening system). I bought this universal garage door remote and within 5 minutes of opening the product, the remote was programmed to my garage door system. I needed a second one as both my original remotes were falling apart from being dropped.

Customer Review: Universal Transmitter
Summary: 5 Stars

I received this device as a surprise as it was substituted for my original order which was no longer available. I was able to program this to a LiftMaster rolling code and a Craftsman unit that has resisted all attempts to match it up to a generic keypad in about 15 minutes. Both units synced on the first try. Most of the 15 minutes was spent getting a ladder and moving 1 car out of the way to access the LiftMaster. The range is good and it's small enough to fit in a small nook in the dash on my 2010 F150 FX4. Good product. Good price.

Customer Review: Works Well
Summary: 5 Stars

This remote works well. The directions were easy to follow and the unit was easy to program. However, this remote only works with 2-position dip switches so I changed the dip switch position on my opener to either up or down to match the dip switch position on the remote and after that it was easy. I used the other button to program from a learn button and this also worked well. Both openers were Chamberlain. The range to open isn't great but good enough and reliable. I would buy another one if a need would arise to do so.

Customer Review: Work with most remote in different frequency
Summary: 5 Stars

I am writing this review to let you know that this remote works with most of garage doors. I have tried to use and program with 4 different garage door with different freq 310, 315 and 390. They all works !

Most reviewers who claimed that this remote does not work should pay and read the instruction or call the customer support.

If your garage door is build after 1990 you should be fine with this remote provided you know how to program it. Again, you have to read the instruction.

Customer Review: universal indeed
Summary: 5 Stars

I moved into a gated community. Unfortunately, the gate was using the old dipswitch style reote, while my own garage door opener was the intellicode stuff. I didn't realize that there was a difference between the two, and originally mistakenly ordered a random dual button Intellicode remote. After searching, I settled on this, and it works perfectly as described. I was able to program the remote for both Intellicode and dipswitch modes in about 5 minutes. I'm really happy with this purchase!
