I understand many people will disagree with me, but for what I expected and needed out of this device I was extremely satisfied. I use it for very small detail work on PC boards. I found that I was much less likely to damage the components around my solder joints because it does not heat anything non conductive it comes in contact with (cable covers, pc board, plastic, etc). The other big benefit to me is that I can rarely sit down and finish even a small project without being paged to some other location in our business. I was able to lay this down and come back 30 minutes later and pick up where I left off with out having either a hot iron sitting unattended or having to wait to warm back up a traditional solering iron. I know that the tip is fragile and requires care in use, but overall I'm very happy with the device.
