Tools and Hardware Reviews of Culligan WSH-C125 Wall-Mount 10,000 Gallon Capacity Filtered Showerhead, Chrome FinishCustomer Review: well worth the $30 Summary: 5 Stars
I was saving up to buy the Aquasana showerhead filter, trying to rationalize spending $80 on a product just because our water smells a little funky. I researched dillegently about all of my shower-filter options, read all the Amazon and other sites reviews I could find, and while there was a lot of hype about Aquasana, the real user reviews made me question it's durability, value, and also, it wasn't very pretty.
Then I discovered this Culligan shower filter. It's a little bigger than my regular showerhead, but that's more the massage settings than the filtration unit. It's shiny chrome and looks really nice in my shower. It installed in about 3 minutes and has worked beautifully for the last 2 months.
My main reason for buying this was bad smelling water. This filter got rid of all the odors in our tap water (the metallic tap water smell and the super nasty hydrogen sulfide/rotten egg smell that only got worse the hotter the water was). But it's also improved my skin and hair condition. All this time I had thought I had dry skin and damaged hair. But not anymore. I never would have thought to blame the water!
The 5 massage settings are nice, but I find I like the regular spray shower setting. I was worried that a filter may impact my water pressure, but it actually seems to have improved. The highest-pressure setting on this is almost too much pressure, but it might be good for a theraputic massage.
This was a fabulous find for only ~$30. The quality of the showerhead alone would be worth that, even without the added bonus of filtering out all the yucky stuff.
Customer Review: Pleasantly Surprised! Summary: 5 Stars
We live in the country and have a well. Our water softener works hard but we still end up with smelly and overly hard water. We were in the market for a new showerhead and I stumbled on this. I have to say I wasnt expecting much, boy, was I in for a shock!
Installation was easy, took longer to take the old one off than it did to assemble this and mount it. The 2nd I stepped in the shower for the first time I could tell the difference immediately. Instead of the odorous water we had before we now have neutral smell. We feel so much cleaner, the water leaves our skin feeling clean and with the sheen that all good water should leave behind and I dont go around all day wondering if I smell like sulfur! As I stated before we have very hard water and this thing acts like its nothing. It will be interesting to see how long the filter that you put in this lasts with the quality of our water, I will try to update when we change filters...but at $10 a filter it is well worth it.
This has impressed us so much we are going to be calling Culligan to come and check our water and try their water softeners. If this little thing can make this much difference my hope is that we can have good water everywhere, instead of just in the shower!
Customer Review: A DEFINITE BUY!! Summary: 5 Stars
After comparing prices and reading most of the reviews here at Amazon, I settled for this product. I was dubious at first because the price was just too good to be true. After receiving the package:
1) It took less than 10 minutes to install [suggestion - you might want to buy extra teflon tape - I screwed up the one that came with the package but that was my fault]
2) Another suggestion - TAKE OFF THE STICKER on the filter - both sides. When I turned on the shower, it wasn't working - oops - duh, take off the sticker....
then...
3) All I can say is WOW! The water pressure significantly improved!!! Don't know why - but it did.
4) After taking about 3 showers, there is an immediate improvement on my hair and skin - - soooo soft.
5) I noticed that there is no more chlorine smell, no water spots, the lather on my soaps/soap lotion had more suds, my skin felt clean and soft.
6) There is indeed a significant difference - I feel rejuvenated every time I shower!
A DEFINITE BUY - GREAT PRODUCT FOR SUCH A LOW PRICE...
I hope they don't discontinue this 'coz I'll need filters -though they last six months!
Customer Review: Best Purchase Ever Summary: 5 Stars
This is, without exaggeration, the best purchase I have ever made. It has a water-saving, 2.5-gallon-per-minute flow, which is both environmentally responsible and economical, combined with excellent water pressure and several powerful spray settings. (I prefer the standard spray setting, though, as the water pressure with some others can be almost too high.) It is well worth the price for these features alone.
The added filtration capability truly makes this an essential purchase, not just a worthwhile one, and it has done wonders for my family's severe itchy skin and my long wavy hair. Skin and scalp problems (dermatitis, pruritus, eczema) that were resistant to any type of treatment, including prescriptions, lessened by approximately 80% after using this showerhead. The need for conditioners and styling aids to manage my long hair also decreased notably.
This is not only a great, money-saving environmental purchase, but a great health and beauty purchase as well, and at such little cost. Furthermore, I installed it easily by myself in about 5 minutes, with only a wrench, and I'm still thrilled with it after 7 months. The best money I ever spent.
Customer Review: Excellent value for a quality showerhead Summary: 5 Stars
It is not hard for me to understand why there are quite a few negative reviews. Some people spend $27 and expect miracles. Obviously, this showerhead isn't going to do the job of a $1200 whole house water softener or R/O system. It is, however, a cost effective solution to hard water in the shower.
We have very hard water here in central Arizona. So far I am very impressed with the WSH-C125. I would even say it is moderately noticeable in how the water feels on our skin. Also, hard water requires the use of much more soap to lather. The showerhead had an immediate effect on the amount of lather created with bodywash and shampoo.
As others have said, even though it says it has 5 different settings, I've found only 3. My favorite is the regular spray setting. As with most economical showerheads, the massage setting doesn't really pulsate like you would like it to.
Note: When they say it requires no tools, that isn't exactly true. I used a crescent wrench to give the connection an extra turn and recommend that you do as well.
