I actually purchased this for the times when I need to wash my hair only, meaning when I am not fully in the tub/shower. I like washing my hair in the kitchen sink because it has a sprayer attachment that helps me to rinse easily, and it's better than hanging over the side of the tub. This strainer keeps any and all hair from going down the drain, it's easy to clean, and since another reviewer said it rusts, I always take it out and let it air dry as soon as I'm done.

I finally do not have to worry about food, etc. going down the drain. The drain that came with the sink, drains too slowly and would allow scraps to escape down the pipe when I had to move it or pick it up a little to let the water down. All I do is use a spoon handle, knife, etc. to gently push it back and forth and the water drains and the scraps are stuck in the product until emptied.
Love them.

I have been looking for a screen insert for my kitchen sink for some time. I first saw one of these in a friends house and realized it would help keep "junk" out of my pipes.

It works as described. The fit is not exact but that is what you expect with a universal product.

So no more "junk" down the sink and no more clogs.

Does what it should and is cheap. Keeps food out of my septic tank and keeps it from clogging my pipes. Wish I had known about these a long time ago. Gotta love the girlfriend :)
