Tools and Hardware Reviews of DeLonghi TRH0715 Oil Filled Radiator HeaterCustomer Review: Nice Heater Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this heater a month ago and I am buying the second one now. It is fair for the price.
Customer Review: No smell, no ticks, no leaks, great heat Summary: 4 Stars
I followed the advice of some other reviewers and looked for this product at Lowe's and it was on clearance for $17.99!! I was willing to take a chance at that price. The box had been opened, and the manual was missing, but I was able to download it off of the Internet. I let it heat up in the garage for 2 hours before bringing it into the house, and used it for the first time in our living room, which is open to the rest of the house, and measures about 15 feet by 18 feet. I put it in front of the fireplace (the manual and other users advised putting it where the drafts are most likely to come in), and I found I didn't need all my extra layers of clothes I usually wear even when the furnace is on (we keep it at 65 in the winter). It is absolutely silent, and there is zero odor. And my eyes were not all dried out from hot air blowing around that you get with other space heaters. I have it on right now in my home office, and am cozier than I ever was with the noisy space heater this one has replaced. We've only had it less than a week, so can't speak to energy savings, but I don't have it on the highest setting, and I'm quite toasty. There are two switches: a medium and low. If they're both on, you get maximum heat. There is also a dial that goes from one to 6. Once you're at your desired temp, you turn the dial down until it clicks, and then the heater maintains that level of heat and you can turn either the low or medium switch off to save energy. It does get very hot to touch; you can't leave your hand on it at all. Two of the wheels got flipped under when I was moving it without my realizing it, and it fell over, hard, when I put it down, so just be careful of that. I highly recommend this heater, and I hope you find a great price on it like I did. Even if you don't, I would have been happy to pay the $50 with free shipping.
Customer Review: Nice even warmth Summary: 4 Stars
This is the second DiLonghi radiator space heater I purchased. The first one was for my large basement studio, which rarely goes above 55 degress F. My husband appropriated it during this long, cold winter, forcing me to purchase a new one for Valentine's Day.
Pros: Even heat, safe temperature. You can touch the radiator while it's in use and not burn yourself. It is safe for smaller rooms, too. Silent! The one handle on the side is welcome for dragging it.
Cons: It takes a while to heat up, which is understandable. After all, there is no forced air, no flame, etc. It is also an energy hog. The lights dim slightly when we turn it on, and there is no chance of running the treadmill and the heater at the same time. A second handle would also be a good idea, which would allow it to be carried more easily.
This heater is great, though. It's safe, adjustable and reliable. I recommend it for anybody!
Customer Review: DeLonghi TRH0715 Summary: 4 Stars
Great for areas where radiating heat is needed, heat is warm and lingering with adjustment features. We are currently using 4 of these heaters to heat our downstairs area, approximately 1400 sf. The numbered dial gives excellent heat control. The wattage economizer makes for cost effecient heating. Heater is too hot to touch while heating up or using high temps which can cause a burn however most heaters of this type can burn at high temps. It is very safe and economic to leave on 24 hours a day as it will shut off automatically once the predetermined heat range is reached. It may seem confusing trying to set the desired temp but just read the directions first. Overall this is a great heater especially for the money. We were using natural gas to heat our home and converted to electric using these heaters when gas prices jumped again this year. We are warm and can also afford to eat. Good job for us DeLonghi!
Customer Review: Had mine for years, keeps rocking along, nice even heat Summary: 4 Stars
We have a large eat in kitchen. The dining area is surrounded by contractor grade windows, and the area has one less heating vent than it should. When the outside temp drops into the low 20's, we turn on this heater and let it run overnight. The leaky windows combined with the heat coming off this "radiator" style heater make the whole kitchen and connected den area quite cozy. The house furnace actually runs significantly less like this. We use another one outdoors in a cold weather shelter for our dogs. It will add 10-15 degrees (depending on wind)in an uninsulated space.
Both heaters have seen extensive use over 15 years and have been utterly reliable. I would not depend on this for an otherwise unheated area for human use but it's great for supplemental heat.
