Tools and Hardware Reviews of DeLonghi DFH132 SafeHeat Fan HeaterCustomer Review: Great value for a little heater Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for a safe option to heat our 2 yr olds bedroom and to save on fuel costs this winter. I have to admit I was skeptical because it was so small & cheap but it is really great! It works well in small rooms where you can close a door, my daughters room is approx 15 feet by 15 feet and I place it away from curtains on a small table in the center of her room while she's asleep & after only about 20-30 mins her room is nice & toasty. It has a safety cut off sensor that switches it off if something (like a curtain or item of clothing went over it) so it makes me feel safe. It doesn't work in a big open space -like our lounge which is attached to our dining room - has absolutely no effect in a space like that but great for what I need it for. I actually like it better than the central heat especially in my daughters room as I think it doesn't dry out the air as much & she seems to sleep better than when the central heat in our house is on.I also got an electric bill and it doesn't have much impact on the bill, definately cheaper than having the gas heat on!
Customer Review: A review for office workers. Summary: 5 Stars
My office building has been freezing lately so I decided to take matters into my own hands and purchase a heater. This has the features I was looking for:
1) Low Budget (Under 20? Yes please!)
2) Whisper quiet (It makes as much noise as your average desk fan which doesn't disturb your neighbors)
3) Easy to use (Two dials, one for 'Mode selector' and the other for 'Thermostat')
4) Size (Small so it doesn't take over my desk space)
5) Look (Plain color & Simple design as to not distract myself or my coworkers)
There is no "Off" switch but when you turn both the mode and thermostat to the lowest settings it will stop(the little orange light will be on, but that's no distraction for me). It also comes with nice booklets for instructions and their service center availabilities.
One downer was the fact that I wanted a fan and a heater in one, and while you can use the fan without heat it isn't powerful enough for getting really cool. Oh well, it's still a perfect heater for my needs!
Customer Review: Great Performance, Great Value Summary: 5 Stars
This little heater works great! I was concerned about the auto shut off that reviews mentioned but I haven't had that problem with any one of the four I purchased. Yea, i fell for the buy 3 get 1 free deal...BUT AT $18.08! now it is selling for $14.95. Awesome deal!
The SafeHeat fan Heater emits instant warm to hot air right when it is activated. It's not the most stylish heater but it does the job. It has 3 modes of operation: Basic Fan for warmer days, 700 watt of warm air and 1500 watt for hot air. The thermostat control is a dial ranging from 0-6. The automatic thermostat actually works turning it on and off to regulate the room temperature. However, it is Not "extra-quiet". It isn't horribly loud but you'll notice it when it's on.
I was looking for a compact portable heater to heat individual rooms in the house without having to turn on the central heater. This little heater warms a small room from 60 to 78 degrees in about three minutes.
Customer Review: Excellent Performance for the Price Summary: 5 Stars
What can you say for a $15 heater?
Does it work? Yes.
Does it keep my feet warm? Yes.
What about general area? I can feel the heat past my desk particularly if I let it run all day. If I place it above the desk then it does a better job for the area.
Reliable? so far so good
How well do the multiple settings work? Great overall. I use the fan and the first heat setting. The fan is nice when the air is off in the building. The heater is perfect for a small area or my feet. However, I have a number of items plugged to one power strip and the second setting trips the power strip. Therefore, all of my comments are based on the lowest heat setting. If I had a seperate power strip/plug-in for this heater then the heat would be even better.
Temperature setting? Works reliably but I tend to change the setting manually.
Overall? $15 bucks gets you what you need for a personal heater (versus a room heater).
Customer Review: Impressive little space heater Summary: 5 Stars
Although I haven't owned any other small heaters to compare this to, I recommend this item. For two years now, this nicely-priced heater has kept me warm even during the harshest Illinois winters -- which says a lot, considering I'm a California native.
It's light enough to easily move around throughout the day, and its small footprint allows placement almost anywhere -- endtables, nightstands, countertops, shelves and the like. I use it when I'm at my computer workstation (in the garage), and on my nighstand when sleeping. The heat is high-temperature and concentrated, and with auto-shutoff, use is worry-free.
It's probably worth mentioning that at least one acquaintance bought the DeLonghi DFH132 after seeing it at my place. She uses it at her desk in her home office, and has reported being happy with it.
Quit shopping around and get this one. You won't be disappointed.
