Tools and Hardware Reviews of DeLonghi DFH132 SafeHeat Fan HeaterCustomer Review: Excellent and Sturdy Summary: 5 Stars
I've had this heater now for over three years and it's still going strong. It's been through three moves, numerous knocks and has always done an amazing job heating. I used it for my drafty room in a drafty drafty Victorian every day for a year before moving onto warmer dwellings. This little fan manages to nicely heat a small room and has never caused any problems for me what so ever. I would never expect it to heat a large space, there is just no way it would manage. I think I paid something along the lines of 20 bucks for it at a local hardware store and it's proven it's worth. this is an excellent heater for children (no hot parts) and for small rooms and fiscally conservative consumers.
Customer Review: Why spend $40 or more when you can spend $15 Summary: 5 Stars
This heater is just great. Although difficult to see the number settings on the thermostat dial, the heater is surprisingly powerful for something so small. We are doing work on our house and do not have good insulation right now. The furnace could only keep the house to 55 degrees, but the rooms with these had no problem at 70 or so. And they did not run continuously either. Some heaters with cheaper thermostats contstantly cycle on and off, but this one will stay off for a while and then stay on for a while, just like your whole house thermostat. The only negative is that there is no shut off switch if it falls over and I do not trust it to shut down on its own otherwise.
Customer Review: Superb little heater - excellent performance for the money Summary: 5 Stars
For the very small sum that this heater costs, one can only give it top marks. It is best used in smaller rooms, which it can heat up quietly, and quickly. Given its design one can go to sleep with it on, and not worry about smells, leakages, etc. Also, it's fine to use with kids around and no concerns on this front. It won't make much of a dent on larger, cold rooms, but for its low price, this is an unreasonable expectation. My only suggestion would be to include an on/off switch - currently plugging it in activates the unit. In sum, though, this small heater is a big asset and will very quickly pay for itself through lower heating (gas) bills.
Customer Review: I really like this heater. Summary: 5 Stars
This heater works well for me! It also seems much safer than heaters I've had in the past because it is very sturdy and shuts off automatically at a certain temperature. On extra cold days, I put it in the bathroom and warm up the bathroom before I shower. Sometimes the heat in our house just isn't enough in every room. If the bedroom is a little cold and I turn this on and close the door, it warms it up a lot.
I think if you are trying to heat a big space - like an open living room for example, it might not be strong enough. It's really the type of thing you use in an office or bedroom as an additional heat source.
Customer Review: Great Little Heater Summary: 5 Stars
Have owned this heater for a month. Use it for quick heat-up in small rooms. Does a great, quick job and you can adjust the thermostat one of two ways. There is a spin dial on the right hand side that you turn all the way to the right for the hottest and the left hand spin dial has a high & low setting. When the heater has the room the temp you want turn the dial on the right to the left until the fan cuts off. It will hold to that temp. Want it a little cooler or warmer? Adjust the left hand dial to the first or second setting, depending. Warm up a small room or keep your tootsies toasty in a larger room or under a desk.
