Tools and Hardware Reviews of DeLonghi EW7707CM Oil-filled Radiator with ComforTemp Technology

Customer Review: Great Oil Radiator
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had this radiator for 2 months now and I love it. I purchased it for my 7 months old baby's room, since I don't like running the central air at night. This Delonghi radiator is compact and efficient enough to keep my baby's 11'x13' room at the ideal temperature in the cold nights of Chicago. It has the ComforTemp technology, which helps keep the room at an ideal set temperature. If you keep the ComforTemp button pressed, a little green light turns on you can choose between min. med. high. buttons to set the desired temperature. This way it saves energy. My ComEd bill hasn't really gone up, since I got it. If you want to be in control, than you can switch off the ComforTemp button and set the thermostat up to 6. It doesn't dry the air either, in fact, I am not even using a humidifier. I only put some water in a bowl on it by night, just in case. It does get hot to the touch, well, it is a heater. I highly recommend this heater, for who needs it.

Customer Review: DeLonghi EW7707CM Portable Oil Filled Electric Radiator
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased four of these heaters for use by myself and my employees for keeping our quarters (converted 20' steel shipping containers) warm in the freezing Afghanistan winter. They were shipped in the OEM packaging and survived the rigors of APO shipping without any problems. They were selected because we needed heaters that could be used in enclosed places without the dangers associated with fuel burning or exposed electrical heating element type heaters. They have worked well, with no problems to date. They are quiet, with no "ticking" or sounds of relays turning on or off, and as an added bonus they are much safer than other types of heaters. I have found them to be quite capable of keeping my quarters comfortable even when the temperature drops to freezing before morning, without resorting to having to run them at the higher setting. All and all I am very satisfied with them, and consider them more than worth the relatively cheap unit cost.

Customer Review: Satisfied with this
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had this for about 2 months now. I placed this in front of our fireplace in our lower level family room that has a draft. For the first week, it really smelled of burning oil (as stated in the instructions). It almost came to the point that I was going to return it because of that smell. I'm glad we stuck with it though. Eventually the smell went away.

This is not the heater for you if you want to immediately warm the area after turning it on. It increases the surrounding temperature but takes a little time. In my case, I leave it on an hour or two before coming down to our 15x25 foot family room with my 13 month old. I still use an extra oscillating space heater on the other side by my son's play area to make sure he's comfortable. Even without the extra heater it makes a sizeable difference in the temperature downstairs.

Would I buy it again? Definitely.

Customer Review: No noise, no smell, saves dough, works well.

We are very satisfied with this heater. It is silent and safe and doesn't dry out the air like a normal fan driven space heater. The thermostat works well and allows a broad range of temp adjustment. The ComfortTemp setting is a bit warmer than we prefer so we just leave it off and use the thermostat to get the right temp.

Proper placement in front of a north facing window in our boys room has allowed us to turn down the central heater in the house at night and save $ on our winter heating bills. I am sure this unit has paid for itself already this winter.

Some new info, I took some power measurements this winter:
Min Power ON only = ~700 Watts
Med Power ON only = ~750 Watts
Med & Min Power switch ON = ~1350 Watts

Of course, when the built in thermostat clicks off the internal heating element, the power
drops to 0 W.

Customer Review: Outstanding space heater!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a really nice space heater. I bought it to heat my 10 X 12 shed where I'll be storing my motorcycle for the winter. I know, I shouldn't be doing that. But it's a brand new Harley and I wasn't going to let this machine corrode and potentially show signs of serious age after only 4 months of a New England winter. Anyway, I got it up and running on maximum heat (per order of instructions) on a 35 degree day. I closed the doors to the shed and gave it a few hours. When I returned it was about 60 degrees in the shed. I lowered the temp to about 4.5, and shut off the 700 watt switch. In the morning, I checked it and the shed had clearly maintained a heat of about 55 degrees. Incidentally, the shed is very well made. It's not insulated, but very well sealed. Needless to say, I was very impressed with this heater! I'm comfortable knowing now that my bike will be fine.
