Tools and Hardware Reviews of DeLonghi HHP1500 Safeheat Mica-Panel HeaterCustomer Review: Excellent supplemental heat Summary: 5 Stars
This heater is by far the best "supplemental" room heater we have owned. We've had them all from radiating floor models, an expensive tower fan model and for the past several years an oil-filled radiator which we would have kept had the internal wiring not fried (not a good feeling when your bedroom heater goes up in smoke).
I emphasize "suplemental" as you may be disappointed if you expect to heat a room with this heater alone, but we love it in our bedroom. It's very quiet, generates heat almost instantly and it's stylish. We mounted ours on the wall and it's very unobtrusive, it just doesn't get in the way like so many others tend to do. Highly recommended, and if you shop right you can find it with a 2 year extended warranty for about $10.00.
Oh, and for those even slightly worried about that "impossible to remove label," I had no problems. Here's the trick for removing gummy residue from labels. Spray a little WD-40 on a paper towel and wipe, repeat if needed. Then spray some kitchen cleaner on another paper towel, wipe off the oily residue and you're done!
Customer Review: The best - for small ~ normal sized rooms Summary: 5 Stars
I live in MA/NH area, right now our outside temp is: 20~40F. My interior temp is kept at 56~60F without this heater. For my small bedroom that measures 12' x 13' x 8' (150 sq.ft.), I only need this heater at low setting + #5 on the thermostat dial to maintain a comfortable temp of around 65~70F. For my office that measures 11' x 13' x 8' (140 sq.ft.), same thing. This heater is SILENT, so it's perfect for bedroom. But for my living room that measures 12' x 13' x 9' (150 sq.ft.) with open design (no closed door), this heater is insufficient. If your area is of open design with tall ceiling, use a heater w/ fan instead. But this thing is beautifully made. One big complaint is that DeLonghi chooses to use a huge sticker that leaves stubborn residue on the front, it took me well over 40 min. to get rid of that while assembly time was a mere 10 min., so lame, have they heard of easy-peel stickers that leave no/minimal residue? Also, check your local LOWES stores for this heater, cheaper & local pickup...
Customer Review: Excellent Heater! Summary: 5 Stars
Great purchase! I use the heater in a large-sized bedroom, free-standing, not wall-mounted.
Pros:
-Keeps the bedroom incredibly warm, even on the economy mode.
-Although lacking a thermostat, it is still easy to keep the temp in the room right where you want it.
-My kittens love curling up in front of it and thus far have not burst into flames. Awesomely pet safe it seems.
-Got it for a good price during the off-season.
-Completely silent, great for cold nights
Cons:
-The back does get hot, but doesn't not seem to radiate a lot of heat. It is simply hot to the touch. Still not sure if I would mount it to a wall.
-There was an initial smell, but having read other reviews and the warning on the heater, I ran it outside for a few hours and it has never caused any odors indoors.
-Does not warm my soul during the winter of my discontent, but then again was not advertised as a son of York.
Customer Review: Happy to be warmer! Summary: 5 Stars
I was drawn to the DeLonghi mica panel heater because of its looks, and then I read a lot of positive reviews. Happy to say I have not been disappointed! While no space heater can fully compensate for the poorly designed heating system in my condo, the living room is now a more comfortable place to hang out, thanks to this heater. It operates totally silently (no fan), throws out excellent warmth, and the thermostat regulates the output well. The Amazon price was the best I found. After a month of putting it to the test during this bitter New England winter, I'd say it was well worth the investment. The first time you turn it on, there is a chemical smell that needs to burn off, which is accurately described in the manual. But don't let this discourage you; the next time I used it, no odor. Very pleased with this product. DeLonghi HHP1500 Safeheat Mica-Panel Heater
Customer Review: Exactly What I Needed Summary: 5 Stars
I just recently received and started using the DeLonghi Mica Panel Radiator, and it has worked perfectly for me thus far. I was a little worried about some of the average and low reviews, but I have not been disappointed.
There are a couple of important things to mention when deciding whether or not this heater is for you:
Are you patient? This is not forced air heat, or directed heat. A small to moderate amount of heat radiates from the front of the heater, and the rest rises from the top. In an approx 200 sqft room, it took 1.5 to 2 hours for the heater to raise the temp from 55 degrees to 70 degrees (on the low setting). Also, are you insulated? If you have very poor insulation, you'll probably end up losing heat to the environment faster than you gain heat from the heater.
In the end, here's what I love about this radiator:
- It's lightweight
- It's small and very slim
- It heats my room
