I purchased this product for its nice looks at first ...then when i used it ,i couldn't believe how fast and hot this item worked to heat my bedroom 14 x 16 ...I have to get up in the middle of the night and turn it off ...also I use a ceiling fan to circulate the heat as well ...I have 5 people ,5 electric stoves in my home as a main source of heat ..my bill with other electric appliances , tv 's ,washer ,dryer and lights was only $ 115.00 this month ....I have oil heat but keep my regular thermostat on 58 due to over $3.30 a gallon for oil ...This product works better and even saves more money on electric then even those infrared or those Amish heaters that are advertised lately using 12 cents an hour to heat your home ...Beware of those ...I've tried them also .....a lot higher bills then they stated ...Dimplex is the way to go ...its quiet ,efficient,and looks great ..5 stars from me ...=0) Happy Glowing......Customer Review: Very useful and affordable!

Received this unit last week, and I really like it. Does a great job of heating up about half of my 700sq ft apartment. Took a couple hours to noticeably change the temp in the room, but I let it run all night, and it certainly brought the temp up. I was so comfortable with it running this weekend that I actually fell asleep on my couch without a blanket on. Mind you, this is during a Michigan Fall where the night time temps get down to high 30s/low 40s.
I was concerned about it sitting on the carpet, but not after letting it run like it did... the carpet was warm, but no more so that if someone was laying in one spot for a while. On high I would say that the heat that comes out of this unit is basically similar to having 2 hair driers on medium/high (without the noise of course, this heater is practically dead silent).

I was hesitant to buy this as I always wanted a real, wood stove for my master bedroom. I bought this since it was not too small and not too big for my room. I wanted the "flame view" on those rainy nights and also something to heat up my bedroom. I first plugged it in and I love the fact you can turn on only the "flame" without the heat, great for snuggly nights. Also the 2 seperate heat levels. I set it on high and about 15 min later I could feel the heat coming out from the bottom. I was worried at first about the heat close to the floor and carpet, but I felt the carpet after 1 hr. and it was not as hot as I thought it would be. Great all around heater, very pleased, very sturdy, top does not get hot (I placed photo frames on it" I wish I would have purchased the larger one now! I was looking for another heater, my amish just wasn't heating up our home the way I needed. My daughter has one end of the home and I have my room and bath on the other end, the living, dinning, and kitchen are in the middle and open. I ordered this heater, it's small and blends right into the color of my fireplace and is not noticeable. I turn it on late, about 7pm (GA), on low and it keeps my home around 60-65 all night even when the temp is 30 at night. Even my room is comfortable, I have my amish heater in my room and rarely turn it on in the mornings for about 30 min if that. The heat comes out the bottom and I've had several people walk up to it and put their hands in front of the "fire" and say how warm it is, then I point out it's a fake fire. With some reservations, I bought this small Dimplex CS1205 heater for my bedroom because of some cold air coming in both my windows (when winds blow). I was very happy to know that this heater was like having a fireplace in my room instead of a 'little heater', as I described it to be. I would recommend this compact stove to anyone who was looking for beautiful flowing heat and the looks of a fireplace (with the incredibly real looking fire in the front). One reviewer made a suggestion of replacing the 60 watt bulb (contained in the unit) with a 7 watt night light, which I did, and got the same real effect of a fireplace - and less electricity. All in all, this was definitely not the boring, small heater I had visions of before I bought it.
