Ordered and received the Dimplex CS3311 in 4 days. Shipped for free too. It couldn't have arrived on a more perfect day. My 5 and 8 yr old had a snow day and Dad was outside shoveling and snow blowing our fresh 12 INCHES of new fallen snow. At first my hubby rolled his eyes with the look of, "what did you buy now???" After shoveling and clearing out our driveway 5 times in a 24 hour period, he said down and said, "that really does look real", and snuggled up to it. My son turned it on early the next school morning, before I got downstairs. At first I was upset that he had, but then realized, one, that he was awake early for school, and second, he was enjoying it as much as I did! It's perfect for our smaller living room. I put a red berry wreath over it, a little potted pine needle Christmas tree and a basket of our Christmas cards on it. I placed an oak stained board under it, as we have carpeting in the living room. IT IS THE BEST STOVE ON EARTH for a great price. I did take a brown marker and "toned" the red on the logs down to look more authentic. I also replaced the 25 watt bulbs right away with the little 7 watt night light bulbs. I can't guarantee how long this will last, but for now I LOVE IT to pieces!Customer Review: Very happy so far

We recieved this nice little faux woodstove today. It was a clear cool day and after we lifted it out of the box and plugged it in (yep, that is all it takes) we turned it on. After opening all the windows, and turning on the ceiling fan (in case there were fumes to burn off) we found the house so warm we had to turn it off. The flames look pretty good for a electric unit. FYI, you have to sync the remote with the switch on the back of the heater in the proper position. The unit is sturdy and small but light. It is metal on the exterior, except the 'glass' is plastic. For the money, we are pleased so far. It heats up 2 br 100 y.o. house faster than our furnace, with less sneezing. One hint, when we unpacked it, parts of the metal exterior were all sparkly. This must be from the sparkly logs. Dusted it off with a damp paper towel. It really does not get very hot, but will most likely put some tiles under it just in case, and for ambiance.
UPDATE: Had it for a month now and am still very happy! We use it in combination with the furnace, helps it out a bit. I also think our furnace dries out the air more, so our sinuses are better this winter by not having the furnace on so much.

I bought this stove back in November to try not using my very expensive yet inefficient gas heat. In my very large bedroom with high ceilings, this lovely little addition to my decor has completely taken the place of the baseboard heat. The soothing, ambiance-enhancing flame effect is realistic enough to fool Junior, the cat, who alternately stares at it and curls up in front of it. I generally leave it on all night. I like it so much, I just got another one as I was tired of moving it from living room to bedroom every night (very doable, though, as it is compact).
The cost of operation is negligible; from what I can figure about $30 a month using it all night, every night and every weekday night as well as most of the weekend. I have already saved enough from my gas bill this winter to pay for both of them.
It works best in a closed room; in the living room which is a big open space without a door, I supplement with another small fan-forced space heater on the opposite side of the room.
It has transformed my very urban, not so stylish NYC apartment into a comforting mountain retreat.

I just love my little electric heater/wood-stove. It is darling and really adds to the aesthetics of the room. Amazon as usual gave me excellent shipping service~ordered on Sunday and arrived on Tuesday!..all this with the super-saver free shipping made this and excellent purchase. I am not sure how much heat this little heater will put out, but it works very well for my intended purposes. I have a small portion of the house that has little to no heat and this boosted the area to a comfortable warmth (though do keep in mind that I live in Texas and our temps rarely get below 20 degrees). The stove came in just in time for the coldest part of our winter and I could not have been happier with this purchase. I didn't tell my husband I was making the purchase~but he got a big smile on his face when he walked in that chilly night and saw the nice authentic looking fire burning and he did not have to do a single thing to make it happen. For too long he had been warmed twice by cutting his own wood and had laid down his saw a few years ago. I missed the fire..so now, we are both happy. We love this stove. It is very lightweight. We took it out of the box and thought it was lighter and smaller than expected but it looked realistic. I grew up in a farm house with wood heat. This stove looks like a smaller version of the one in the farm house. When turning it on the directions say check the light first. So we turned on the light and was amazed that the fire looked so realistic that you could feel the warmth even before the heat was turned on. The heat was turned on and it quickly warmed an 8x10 room that was ice cold in the basement. We bought it for the basement to enjoy the look of a fireplace but also to supplement the electric baseboard heat that is in the basement and costing more than the rest of our 2 story house with gas heat. We are so pleased with this stove that we want to get more of them for ambiance plus the heating. It has been a cold winter in the midwest. This stove is very energy efficient with little change to our electric bill. We now move it from room to room in the basement, heat up each room then sit by the fire or use our exercise equipment.
