Customer Review: It Looks So Real !

I absolutely LOVE my new Dimplex Electric Stove. I have it in my
bedroom to ward off the Autumn chill but am looking forward to
cranking it up for the Winter. While I have a Central Forced-Air
Furnace in my home, I have always heated the house in the cold
months with a fireplace insert. I love the feeling of standing
next to it and getting warm but that meant I had to be in the
Living Room all the time. This compact portable stove gives me
that effect wherever I am in the house. Right now I have it in
my bedroom so I can relax and watch TV in comfort. It is a more
than sufficient amount of heat for my room which is about 200
square feet. I like to run it with the flames only (no heat)
during the warmth of the daytime. I would highly recommend this
unit. It is much higher quality than some of the other ones of
have seen for sale locally. Way to go Dimplex!

We purchased this same model exactly 2 yrs. ago, from a local store. [It was also priced $50.00 higher.] Our house isn't very big, but it takes a lot of oil to heat up the 1st floor. We use the older stove downstairs in the LR or DR. It's on most evenings, for about 6 hrs. Our electric bill seemed to rise by about $10/month. After some thought & our old furnace dying abruptly, we decided to purchase a second Electralog for the upstairs bedrooms. Even though our new furnace is energy efficient, keeping the thermostat turned down and using the stoves will cost us less than we've ever paid- to be warm! The furnace is set at 62*, it's in the low 50*s outside [damp and raw], and both of the little stoves are on. We're warm and comfortable. By the way- Dimplex is the manufacturer. I called them and was told they manufacture with different names, depending on what the retailer wants. Our new one came with 'Electralog' on the plate.Customer Review: Wow. So easy. Lift it out of the carton and plug it in. Take the remote out of the box, open the battery compartment, and pull out the plastic tab.
Look at the back of the stove. Set the tabs for remote control and heat. Wheel adjusts heat. I forgot to push the tab to heat, so I only got the flame effect at first. 5 minutes total installation.
Placed in front of my fireplace, on the brick ledge. Flame looks real. A stunner. I can't believe how real it looks. Very strong heat. No wonder the reviews are so good. At this price, if I have to replace it yearly, I'll be happy.
I was using ventless gas logs. They do foul the air. The gas logs also cost $ 20 per month for the pilot light, whether I used it or not. Sure the gas logs put out more heat, but who needs that? It overheats one room, and the others are colder. This provides the supplemental heat I need on raw days.

I bought one of these for my Mom's room so she can warm it up a bit before she takes a shower. When I was ordering her one, I thought, I sure would enjoy one in my room too, so I bought one for myself as well. They arrived ready to plug in .... BONUS!!....and the perfect size for us. We have been enjoying them ever since. It's funny how our dogs and cat enjoy laying in front of them also ... almost like they are mesmerized by the "flames." I'm sure they enjoy the heat as well. We live in South Texas, so it's not like it gets THAT cold here ... but it does get cold enough where we use the for warmth, but when it's not cold, we like to use the fire feature without the heat because it's just so relaxing! :)
The remote is an AWESOME feature ... you can be all comfy cozy in bed and turn it off and on without having to get up.
We love them. :)

We have a pretty small house and the 1st floor is around 800 square feet. We have this heater in the middle of the first floor between all of the rooms and it seems to keep the 1st floor pretty comfortable. Avg temp outside is 45-55 degrees, and our thermostat is set at 61. With the heater running it will warm up the house to 69 degrees after about an hour of operation. Thinking about buying one for the 2nd floor.
It's a pretty attractive stove and flames look pretty realistic.
I only have two minor complaints about it. The box it came in was banged up, but luckily only the rear of the stove had a small scratch. If the stove is up against a wall you might notice a sliver of light on the wall that is a result of the mirrors letting light out of the back. Kind of ruins the allusion. But all in all a great low cost efficient electric stove.
